I find it ironic, Wilder comes back with the club in exactly the same position as when he left. It’s like time has stood still. Let’s see if he can complete the escape he walked away from last time.

Altho factually incorrect, Paddy Power made this point in a great post yesterday

Anyone else just feel a sense of relief, it had to change we couldn’t go on like we had been, and in Wilder, you just know even if it does go wrong he’s gonna give absolutely everything. The players are gonna have to be along for the journey. It already feels like there’s been a lift.

Some excitement back. No worries, everyone will be singing he's be of our own when we beat Liverpool.

Lets see after 5 games (Liverpool, Brentford, Chelsea, Villa and Luton)

I'm just happy for the change after watching Heckingbottoms pathetic team lose 5-0 at Burnley, who'd lost 7/7 home games previously.

Who else would you have realistically appointed?

Good luck Chris.
Although will still support the team regardless of who is in charge or playing as they won't be there forever. The Prince was going in one direction, you do wonder how long the contract talks have been going on for.

Although I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of Wilder returning, I can't help but remember the way it all ended back in 2021. He had 4 years of unbelievable success with us and, in a season where the entire world changed, he got some things wrong, started to question his decision-making, and had empty stadiums to make him feel worse. His successes shouldn't be forgotten, but maybe his one season of disappointment should be?

OK, he hasn't had much success elsewhere, but something tells me its different with us. I trust him to take us forward. Instil that fight that we've so clearly lost. The season he left, none of us truly wanted him gone. And, not long before all of that we were talking about giving him the ten-year contract he deserved.

This may be a long-term appointment in the end. If it turns out to be a mistake then I'll hold my hands up and so will the club. But let's at least give him the chance, and the respect, he deserves.

Was thinking the same, It’s like he’s never left. Got to say the fucker can really talk and motivate well, hopefully he’s been away and learnt a bit about himself and bring the good old days.

I think Keith Andrews will change his thinking, plus knilly now has that international exp
Can't say I'm thrilled with the appointment but I'll try to have positive thoughts

Until the end of the season is a good call. Said it on here before, gut feels like this is a mistake but head suggests that if CW has been humbled by his final season here and the jobs that followed, maybe he'll be able to put his own ego aside and do what needs to be done. Interesting he made specific reference to the formation. Trying to get ahead of the comments of only being a 1 trick pony with no plan B. Time will tell.

Was it ever confirmed he walked out on united, I've read regularly but never heard it officially, was it a case of if enough people say it over a period of time it feels true?
I'm not saying he did or not ,can someone confirm it is true or did he get the sack first?
He said it wasn't nice getting his 1st contract termination after 900 games whilst at Boro, that suggests he walked

If by some miracle we nick a point tomorrow it will lift the whole place and bring back some belief. He might just win around the people that don’t want him back. Great dream while it lasted!

Just been on Sky very hyper but has been at the Club since 6.30 a.m.

1. Says relationship repaired some time ago with PA. PA kept in touch wishing him well in his new jobs and offered to be a reference for any new opportunities. Fenerbache being one.
2. Admits there were things he shouldn't have got involved in last time round. Doesn't elaborate.
3. Says we're getting a better version of CW now because of some of the failures he has experienced which he is wiser for. Not so much gung ho lets go for a win at all costs now more the performance takes priority. Interesting observation as at times in the past he did seem to be conservative in his approach to killing teams off.
4. Players have become disconnected from the supporters last 2 games. That needs to be reset.
5. Players spoken to today and reminded of what SUFC is all about.
6. Not like 2016 now. Then there were 7 or 8 areas of the club that were dysfunctional. Players hated the fans and vice versa.
7. Its not unfinished business, its business and that has to be getting back to the basics and getting some results on the Board.
8. Hasn't discussed JTW with PA in any detail yet needs to focus on the up and coming games first.

Can fix point 8 for you, sell to bring anyone in as the Prince has spent £3million in compo shipping out the old management

Andrews seems very astute in his summaries. Often highlighting aspects of play that most pundits wouldn't spot. I don't think he'll be a yes man either, so it's a good start by Wilder, to even contemplate a different view. UTB
