Wilder can't even deliver basic football. Get the fucker out.

First 25 we were by far the better team. Player gets sent off and the worst possible player (the player that’s marking their best player). They score a wonder goal from a crap clearance. We then fight and fight and get to level. We then change tired like for like players so don’t go defensive which everyone despises. Sorry Pep you are talking twaddle.
Correct, the worst player was sent off (!!) but if I had to choose someone to be sent off it would 100% be Choudhury. I just don't see what wilder sees in him but when Seriki comes back you can almost guarantee we'll hear Wilder come out with "it's Hamza's spot to lose" "Seriki will have to fight for his place" when it should be an absolute no brainer.

Chouddhury is a DM filling in at RB. Are you mystic meg assuming what the manager will say or just wishful thinking?

He's not "filling in" there he's Wilders preferred choice. Wilder is the most predictable manager in the championship and loves his boys (Choudhury, Peck, Arblaster, Burrows, BBD, Campbell etc). They will always be his first choice no matter what.
Seriki, like Brooks, is an outsider and will always be treated like the inconvenient stepchild.

In simple terms - I thought 11v11 we were superior. Dropping to 10 I really feared the worse, but they battled fantastic and nearly got what would have been a memorable draw. We are shit lots of times but last night was a good go which should be commended not slagged off.
11v11 we were 1-0 down.

Talking utter shite . Choudhury is a DM , do some research. He did well at RB on his last loan to us so was brought back as cover for RB And CM. The fact that hes stuck there at the moment is down to injuries. I think the comment ""Wilders Boys" gives your agenda away.

Talking of the 'worldie' can some of you goalies on here explain something to me that I've puzzled over for the 60-odd years I've been watching professional football? Cooper saw the ball fairly early on and almost got to it. What confuses me is that he, like a lot of goalkeepers, went for it with his right hand. This means that he could not stretch as far as if he had gone with his left hand and is basically moving the ball along it's trajectory should he manage to get a touch. It always looks a very awkward and restricting movement to me.

There’s this idea that we’re inconsistent but I disagree.
We consistently give the ball away cheaply.
We consistently are too slow to close people down on the edge of the box.
We consistently look devoid of ideas.
We consistently leave players unmarked in the box.
We consistently only play well for about half an hour per game.
We consistently only have 30 something percent possession.
The captain is consistently allover the place like a headless chicken.
The pisshead manager is consistently churning out the same pathetic excuses, blaming everything but himself and his cringeworthy, sycophantic followers consistently lap it up.

We’re the most consistent team in the league 🤷‍♂️

4 defeats in the last 5 games. If we lose Saturday it HAS to be the final nail in the Wilder coffin
But it won’t be

He’s going nowhere - in all aspects - imo

On and on and on we go saying this shite not even in a different way just the same again and again.
And on and on and on Wilder goes churning out the same drab performances and excuses every week.

People are frustrated because we’re playing crap, we’re crap to watch & yet we keep doing the same thing over and over again. It’s not suddenly going to magically click & start working - on pretty much every metric we’re one of the worst sides in the division.

You don’t need to be a genius manager to see the 4-4-2 is incredibly limiting. Fine we’re scoring a few, but we’re being outplayed and out shot in every single game. And yet our manager doesn’t seem to be trying to do anything to stop that. Wilder & the local media need to stop treating fans like idiots for pointing out genuine issues.

Where's the lie?

Everyone knows he's a DM and everyone who's ever watched him at RB knows he's not a RB, except your lord and saviour Christopher Wilder.

He was distinctively average as a RB last time but had superior players around him which hid his massive deficiencies. Make no mistake, he's been brought in as first choice RB.

We have Seriki, Tanganga, Choudhury, Doherty, Shackleton, Curtis, Sachdev that can play RB. Seriki's injury is unfortunate, Curtis and Sachdev are not ready for championship football (but unlikely to get a look in even if they were), Shackleton can't stay fit but Wilder still loves him, and Doherty apparently still isn't fit enough to start.

Any competent manager would have prioritised an actual right back that is ready to go, but not Wilder. Choudhury and Doherty's salaries could easily have paid for one, but nope. Forget talent and competency, it's all about culture culture culture, and as always Wilder knows best.

No it wasn’t last night it was gripping - claw back from 2 down. Donovan and Campbell come on and for once it seemed liked ‘wow we are going for it’. At that point I was dreaming of a goal but was desperate to hold for a draw.
My son text with 8 minutes to go and said’ a goal against us in last minute is going to hurt!’
And of course it did - but I wasn’t sleepy.
OK you despise Wilder but don’t talk bollox.
His football is awful end of, only his little fan group where he can do no wrong think otherwise.

So when we had several available defensive midfielders, and no fit right back other than Docherty, why did Wilder choose to sign him to play there rather than, you know, sign a right back?

Probably not no. Nothing will change though. It’s been the same football for 3 years. We just got away with it more in the ‘92 point’ season because the squad was better. He won’t change or adapt despite the quality of the squad declining. He’ll just keep blaming the players for not following ‘the plan’

Completely agree , the football is tiresome and dull , it somehow worked , as you say with better players.

Im not in the wilder fan club or part of the pile on , results will ultimately determine the fate of the manager as it does for almost all.

It does however feel like a slow death atm

How many actual right backs have we had under wilders second coming? It's always been a deficiency with loans coming and going and no one deemed good enough. Whilst the recruitment team are shit it can't always be on them.

Quote from Wilder from the "injury" interview

"when you're up, or when you're level you're in more of a defensive shape"

And there lies the problem. A basic philosophy of let's hang on to what we've got. as opposed to let's keep the foot on the gas and put this to bed now.

I think Dave Challinor is already nailed on to take the Pigs job.

I think the real risk is that there is no guarantee that making a change now would improve things for the better

I think under CW we won’t go down this season, we will pick up enough points at home and pick up a few away and that will be sufficient to mean we stay in the Championship.

I also feel strongly that Uniteds best bet would be letting him keep up this season and have the honest conversation with him that we are looking to make a change at the end of the season and keeping him onside until then and trying to ensure an orderly transition of power to the new manager
Keep him onside ?
Only way of doing that is to limit our BladeyBladey old-boys choices to Billy Sharp , novice coach.
Actually , thinking about it ,
Might not be a bad idea ,
IF we hide from Wilder the intention to bring in a DoF to whom Billy will report.
Someone of longer experience but a way more progressive m.o. than either Wilder or Bettis.
We absolutely must somehow get out of this cloying BladeyBladey culture which limits everything about the club , especially the recruitment.

I think having someone like Hamer in the team covered up a lot of the dross. Now we haven’t got that maverick type who can produce something out of nothing and Wilder doesn’t have a clue how to break teams down

Try lying on your left side in bed tonight and see which arm you can reach highest with.

Agree on this regards slow death. I have always been a big Wilder supporter but his tactics this season and some of the signings have pushed me to that middle ground.
I still believe like others do that as we are now he'll keep us somewhere between 10th-17th. I also believe there's probably more that could be got out of the squad despite its limitations having lost our best three attacking outlets.

The main concern, as always, is that the owners seem to have done absolutely zero to rectify the fact that they themselves and the board know next to nothing about football and as such know next to nothing about what Plan B, C or D is when it comes to our next manager.

I believe our next manager will either be:

a: Cheap - Micky Collins/Phil Jones pairing
b: Flashy - chasing an ex-pro name they might vaguely recognise (Wilshere, Savage etc)
c: Someone who has beat us recently: long list here

I don't believe they have any grasp on what is needed or what type of coach might be able to come in and get the most out of this current crop of misfits.

The owners should start by revamping the whole recruitment team - get rid of Wilder's cronies.
But they clearly don't have clue how to do that because there's no-one with any football knowledge who isn't in Wilder's pocket.

I thought Yankee businessmen were supposed to be ruthless but this lot just seem toothless.
Anyway , as our mini-glorious years 2016-20 fade from memory , they'll soon learn that Blades fans are way more discerning than the knuckle draggers at the sty.
Crowds will dwindle as we reject 1)watching crap & 2) witnessing incompetence from the top down.

Red card was a Get out of Jail card for Wilder.

We were and will remain bereft of ideas, tactical nouse and an unfashionable club to play for as long as the current set up remains.

We’ve always been an unfashionable club, nowt wrong with that, makes the good times great.
