Explain how he disrespected us as a club and fanbase? Because he wanted to leave and left?
Was he really looked upon by board members as a sunday league manager given the Prince kept saying he wanted to keep him on?
I agree if anyone is coming in it's disrespectful to Hecky. And it's not all on hecky either we had a terrible summer of planning 2nd to perhaps Wednesday.
BUT just remember that Wilder got us really going like we haven't seen for many years. He assembled a squad that seemed to be greater than the sum of it's parts and achieved alot within 4 years. His final season was bad, but like we have said it was a perfect cocktail of covid (no crowds) some poor transfers overall, loss of JOC and I think something was up with the fitness of the squad in general that season or basically post covid as we didn't look the same after the restart either.
Don't disrespect what Wilder did for us too, just like you shouldn't Warnock or Bassett.
Yes he was looked upon as that.I have that info first hand.I have never claimed to be in the know but that was shared with me via a source who heard it first hand

I think it was disrepectful to take 4 million from a club that you supposedly love, knowing it will have potential future negative impact.4 fucking million reward for ultimate failure.

,ie not keeping us in the prem.
I cringed at those interviews hanging out some players to dry when he seemed incapable of implementing a plan b.Plan A worked until teams found a way to negate it.
I, like anyone enjoyed us going toe to toe in the first prem season.Got really bored with the continual insistance of deploying tactics that were no longer effective in the second, culminating in a mardy arsed manager who rarely if ever took any responsibility for persisting with an inflexible system.
The Messiah

took the plaudits when the going was good but sloped off when it turned to shit.
Some of us are still awaiting an analysis of why and how, from our

....fellow blade, which is never happening I know and yet here some are itching for his return to once again perform miracles.
I don't care much for short termism, which I see a Wilder appointment as.
I'm interested in the long term prospects of SUFC.
If Wilder had been he may well have chosen to stay, but Sunday league managers seek glory, celebrated with crates of beer.
I think it's time for intelligent forward thinkers, capable of navigating the premier league shitfest, to create a long awaited philosophy capable of sustaining a workable model that satisfies those of us invested, emotionally and financially in our club.
Let's move toward that and stop repeating the same behaviours that contribute to odd moments of hope, but ultimate also ran status.
Warnock has arguably proved to be a short termist over his long career.
Wilder belongs for me in the same category.
Moreover, who, other than some of our nostalgic fans, are metaphorically queueing up for his signature

?
