I can't argue with much of that apart from Simmo pulling off a few decent saves in the 1st half to keep us in it. We should have gone straight for the kill in the 2nd half. We were our own worst enemy by sitting back and inviting them to play their hoof ball. Chin up lads. UTB & FTO

Did you feel it sent a message when we put on Porter, rather than Clarke? It meant we had the partnership of Cresswell and Porter which is hopeless in terms of counter attacking, but makes us a little stronger in the air at set pieces. Clarke seems the ideal type of striker to throw on to try hitting a desperate, losing team on the break. Did the Cresswell/Porter combination mean we gave up hope of scoring another and chose to focus on stopping wendy's late set pieces?

I've not really seen much of Clarke. But i still wanted to see him on instead of Porter. They looked nervous at the back when we got at the for 5 mins in the 2nd half. Reda Johnson looked like their weak link. If we had got the ball down and ran at him enough he would of crumbled. But we played to his strength and looped the ball up into the air and he just nodded it where ever he wanted to.

i think the mistake made was to bring Phillips on for williamson not saying he's a bad player but coming on in such a big game left us open on that side and both goals came from their players having time on the ball to put the ball in and put pressure on simmo as they had done their homework on him and knew any ball in he would flap at.

but how can a ref who one week gives a pen for someone just touching a player not give a foul for someone just running into the keeper with no intension of going for the ball.
