And there you go,you basically slagged him off because of one game in that one statement.I personally haven't seen or heard anyone say he was good on saturday, and i was replying to the fact that you said we should sell him in January. This is the myth that has built up ,name me these games. On Saturday he missed a sitter after 2 minutes that could have changed the game completely , had an absolute nightmare with control, movement and possession and yet still some say he played OK. These are supposed to be what sets him apart ,sorry but JCR did more in 2 minutes than he did in 65 or whatever it was. Still we get the excuses ,he is playing in the wrong position ,he is thinking ahead of the other players ,what shit ,if he was that good he could alter his game to suit. Do you really think we should build our team around him and let him stand in a 10 metre square receiving passes and let all the other players take people on ,tackle ,cross and head the ball for him ? Macdonald was 10 times the player he is ,rarely gave the ball away ,Baxters retention of the ball is only around 60% I reckon. I keep willing him in a game to prove me wrong ,but I watched him closely on Saturday , he was woeful.
Single handedly might have been a bit ott,but you get the point.I'd love to see how many games we've lost when he's played.he got us 7 points single handedly ? Really ?
If you look back it isn't based on Saturday ,it is a season and a quarter ,a season and a quarter in which he still hasn't apparently managed to get fit.
Sell rather than give away
1. Clough
2. His hugging mate Baxter.
Can't do it?
Well there's one born every minute and some mug will do it!
First sales that would actually see the team improving on and off the field.
4-6-0 can only sign ex derby pass it sidewards set out not to lose first get the bingo balls out to pick the team and then I'll add my favourites endless petty vendettas etc my arse!
I watched Jose closely on Saturday. A sitter missed in first minute, a half hearted lofted backpass to the Orient keeper, and a few lazy misplaced passes. How he could be given the time he was given by the manager,is beyond me.What do you base this on ,a couple of good goals and a few Hollywood passes ,there are at least 6 players with better technique in our squad ,and 18 with better application. He is massively over rated in my opinion ,a luxury we cant carry and for me an average lower 3rd division player. I really don't get the hype that surrounds him.
Sorry can't agree with moving Flynn on? he does so much work - tracking back and going forward.Porter - Waste of a wage, never in the 18 man squad.
Flynn - Just not the same player he was last year.
Butler - Do I need to say why?
Sorry can't agree with moving Flynn on, he does so much work tracking back and going forward 100% player! We all know that we need someone to put the ball in the net, Higdon as been very disappointing, Porter works very hard but never gets a game and must be frustrated so perhaps he could move on and he would get himself game time. Basham not done it for me but time will tell and could be a steady squad player? But we have so many so - so players and we are in need of bringing in that 'SPECIAL ONE'Porter - Waste of a wage, never in the 18 man squad.

I don't think Mourinho will step down to league one tbh.But we have so many so - so players and we are in need of bringing in that 'SPECIAL ONE'
I'm surprised at those stats. I can't believe he gets to start in front of JCR. Or that any of the others do, for that matter.
Baxter should be the most advanced of our midfield three if we are going to continue with a loan striker.
Having watched his performance several times on Sunday, I think the criticism is a bit unfair. It's true it's the area he needs to improve on, but there was still a fair bit that came from his crosses. And the difference between him and Flynn in that he beats his man almost every time. It takes about 10 attempts for Flynn to get a cross in.I think JCR's inability to cross the ball is one of the problems. JCR as a 20 minute impact player will do me just fine. Flynn or Davies every time to start IMO.

UTB
I get what you're saying Balham Blade ,but imo,i think the 2 scenarios wouldn't happen because JCR would beat his man a lot more times than what you've stated against Flynny ,meaning if Flynny played we would go backwards more and put ourselves under more pressure, especially if the other team continued to press up the pitch, where as if JCR plays he relieves pressure by taking his man on repeatedly, whether the cross been good or poor as the other team can't score while the ball is up the other end of the pitch.I hope that answers your question from my point of view.Crosses are a particularly ineffective way of attacking.
Let's say Campbell-Ryce takes on his full back 10 times. 3 times he gets tackled, 7 times he beats his man and swings a cross in. Two of those crosses find a Blades shirt.
Flynn takes on his full back 10 times. 3 times he gets tackled, 2 times he beat his man and puts a cross in, one of which finds a Blades shirt. On the other 5 occasions, he turns back and passes to a teammate.
Who's the more effective winger?
