Seriously Butler has to go even if it is a cancelled contract to get his wages out of the FFP calculation - unless they can kiss and make up but I can't see that happening if Doyle is still at the club. I can't see any future for Porter here. McGinn will probably not be missed either - so low in the pecking order it would probably do him a favour to go even if it is on loan.

Whilst Flynn is undoubtedly not in the form he was last year (when, he also had a differing right back/central midfield), I don't quite get why he's still currently being picked out before some of the others.

For me, he's been better than Murphy and Scougall, he's been more consistent than Campbell-Ryce and the Player Ratings on here show him as having 4 "man of the match" performances.

He had a good back end to the season but needs to be consistantly at the top of his game to be good enough in the third division.

Totally agree Lane Ender . Butler would in my opinion resolve the back four problem and even create a settled CB partnership. The Palace chap is with us for a short period of time , and is only a stop gap solution . He may come good ,on the saturday before he returns back down the M1 to Palace . Never a dull moment being a blade , although we have no choice but to trust Mr Clough and Clough brother.

I'm a big fan of Flynn in this team. With everyone at their best you'll get more creativity and more danger on the wings from Murphy and JCR, but Flynn gives you a more consistent 90 minutes with better work rate and much better defensive work.

Picking one from Flynn and Davies, and one from Murphy and JCR for the wide positions gives us good balance. Added that Davies is fine in the middle or at right back and Murphy can play up top means we can accommodate all four if desired.

Dunno who I'd sell, dunno who I'd buy for that matter!

Could argue McDonald was mostly full of those.

I think Baxter offers something different and can score quality goals on his day.

We can use him in this division; he isn't a 'luxury' player as proven by his goals and influence in a mediocre (at best) Oldham side in this division.

Baxter should be the most advanced of our midfield three if we are going to continue with a loan striker.

• 7.86 for the Orient away game (2nd highest Howard 5.68),
• 9.21 for his 20 minute sub appearance at Colchester (2nd highest: Davies 7.07)
• 7.19 for his 25 minutes at Swindon (2nd highest McNulty 5.52)

Looks a bit generous.

It's patently obvious that the winning strategy is investing in the club's finances. We have two and a half million quid made from the sale of Maguire, shitloads saved from Clough buying some other priceless players and with more money for players who have suddenly started to show promise, we can really [REDACTED] which would be a Game Changing Investment to beat the bank.

If there's 6 players with better ability than Baxter at the lane then I haven't seen them yet.
I will agree that he might slow the game down too much at times but he's the closest we have to McDonald now and he was my frikin hero. I love watching players like them two

Baxter is a luxury that has single handedly,when others weren't performing,kept us out of the relegation places,that's what i'd base it on.You don't get rid of your BETTER players.
