The talk of Wilder and a top 6 club is laughable, think some people have their Blades specs on and are losing it.
The reality is that Wilder is considered a plucky Northern manager who is showing promise at fighting relegation battles.
So the only bigger club that might come in for him is Newcastle or Aston Villa, that’s it, but I doubt even those 2 would be interested.
When a PL club has money to appoint almost any manager......then it seems nonsense to appoint a manager who’s career has mainly been in the non league.
Managers tend to be pigeon holed.
At the moment Wilder has this reputation of performing miracles in the lower divisions, so he’ll be forever in demand in the lower divisions.
In the PL he currently has almost no reputation, however if we finish around 15th, then he’ll be building himself a reputation as someone good at fighting relegation battles. The only way a top half club would even think about Wilder is if he wins a trophy.
You only have to look at Eddie Howe and Sean Dyche, doing great jobs helping Bournmouth and Burnley finish mid table every year.
Even with that record those 2 managers still can’t attract better jobs.
As I said unless we win a trophy or gets us into the Europa Cup and helps us reach a final in Europe then Wilder will be here for years.
