Our most talented player ever

This is a bit like when David Bowie asked his fans to vote for the songs he’d play on his next tour and everyone voted for ‘The Laughing Gnome’ :D

For me, 100% Glyn Hodges. As it stands.

But we have a current player that is rapidly catching him up.

UTB

Hutchison, Cowans, Borbokis, McGrath, Ebbrell (we will never know but that turn he did just before he crocked himself on half time vs Reading, had he repeated such skill over 200 games, would've made him Pele)...

Easy way to judge this.

Everyone who ever saw both Hagan and Currie says Hagan was the better player.

Told this story before but my late Grandad on my mums side was a huge Wednesday fan, had no time at all for United, I wouldn’t be allowed over his door step with my United shirt on when I was a kid, always said he wouldn't eat bacon as it had red and white stripes in it.

But ask him who was the best footballer he ever saw he would answer without hesitation.. Jimmy Hagan.

Agree all the old uns I know who saw both Hagan and Currie in their prime say Hagan was better
but these type of yester year to modern comparisons always tend to be bias in favour of the older player.

Also the passing of time and nostalgia often seems to make a player seem better than they were.
