You have to question United's attitude yesterday as they looked like they thought they only had to turn up and the job was done. Give Rotherham credit, they worked so much harder than we did, and clearly were more up for it than we were. How many times did you see a United player challenge for the ball and it always landed with the Millers player? That isn't coincidence when it happens nearly all the way through the game. United's passing was badly off and there was many a time when simple passes were going astray. Fleck and Norwood could have sat with me for all the good they did yesterday (they are still quality players though before people get all defensive on here).
They wanted it more than we did pure and simple. And that's the galling aspect of yesterday, more then the result which when all said and done isn't too shabby. I always got the impression that if we had just looked remotely like anything we are capable of we would have won the game comfortably but we didn't turn up. We were very lucky that we didn't get an hiding yesterday, and the players need a kick up the arse for that (Sharp, Duffy, and Hendo given a pass only for me).
