What will it take to remove the hierachy??

and lap up his excuses,

So who is doing this ? Not seen anyone on here doing this. I just see some fans who try to have a constructive discussion and sometimes look on the positive side whilst others appear to berate fans for going to games and appear to look to have a go at anything to do with the club and others who disagree with their point of view. Different ways of supporting the team but doesn'tit necessarily mean the first approach is lapping up what MCCabe is doing to the club.

It isn't the only answer Linz. What McCabe wants for the club could vary enormously. If 20,000 turn up every week and lap up his excuses, he will carry on regardless.

UTB
if you don't want to go then fine you don't have to start insulting g the people who do ( accusing them of lapping up excuses is insulting )

Genuine question ab... are you advocating a stay-away protest?

No, because I can't do it myself. I have to turn up. I'm advocating that the fans vocally let the board what they feel. Cringweworthy as they may be, car park porotests have their place - or even during the 90 minutes. The season's over as far as I'm concerned. McCabe will hate the negative publicity hitting the media.

UTB

That.

It's the only answer you need.

It's isn't the old days of forcing out chairman and getting someone else from the board to step up in their place. We're talking about an owner and the only way we'll get a new owner is if someone comes in to buy.

Right now Linz I would genuinely ask if we are not better in administration?

No, that wasn't my point at all. 90 minutes of silence tells McCabe that he's got away with it again. And lets face it, there's still a good (but diminishing) few who do lap up his shite.

During the match, people were turning round and shouting at the directors box... but I couldn't see any directors I recognised there.

It's going to take more than a rabble of people shouting "fuckin' nob'eads" in the carpark to get rid of the man you want to get rid of.

It's going to take someone with the money to step in an be our owner. McCabe can't just cut his losses and leave us ownerless... we'll have no one to sign the cheques and no one to approve the spending that the fans desperately want. Where is the money coming from without an owner? The banks apparently didn't want to lend us anything... which is why they had to try and go down the self-sufficient route in the first place. We make a loss year-on-year so how are we going to cover our overheads, particularly when the fans are staying away?

I know fans don't want to see us as a business and I think for some the ramifications of that are a bit too complex, but we are a business. We need an owner... whoever that is.

the best thing to do is probably some kind of peaceful action. as much as i hate mccabe, make it clear to him weve had enough but give him one last chance to put it right. unfortunately, now we cant sign any players, so theres not much to gain from that right now. i know it wont happen, but it would make a real statement if nobody bought season tickets next season. and the fans made a stand together. hopefully, it would make mccabe either sell up or invest in new players. if you get to 3 weeks before the season starts, and the club have sold about 500 season tickets, that would have a huge impact. but i know it wont happen, cos fans wont stick together en masse like that.

boycotting games? probably better for people to go in the car park, or somewhere else outside, before kick off. not say a word. no shouting. no anger. maybe pro blades songs. then go in at half time and support the team. radical i know.

I accept we need an owner. I don't accept that there isn't anyone out there who would take over at the right price.

Carpark demos = negative publicity = McCabe wanting out sooner = lower price.

Alternatively, continue to hope things turn around.

I've had enough.

It needs everyone to boycott - one match is all it needs!
Disagree with Alco - you don't have to turn up just boycott Tuesdays home match and use the cash you've saved to go to an away match and support the team from there!

A hypothetical scenario.. consider if you will, that you want to sell your house.

You've put a new bathroom in, new roof, new windows... the lot. You've had it valued by independent valuers and the price is fair, although at the bottom of your heart, you know the price fails to reflect what you've spent.

Some scruff comes to look round your house, hooks his hands into his belt loops and offers you a tenner for it because it wants to make it into a brothel.

Now you've emotionally and financially invested in this house. You want to sell because the time is right, but you don't want to sell for less than it's worth and you definitely don't want to sell to some pikey who's going to remove all your fixtures and fittings.

All the time, your kids and your friends are calling you a fool and telling you to take the tenner and run when all you want is a nice old chap who's going to come in and look after your work.

Slightly facetious... yes. But no more facetious than saying that someone could buy us for a quid.

My suggestion that it would probably cost a pound to buy us wasn't being facetious - it probably would. Again - it would depend on what debt McCabe wants to leave us with.

I have no doubt that if a family of delinquents move next door, the value of my house will fall. I'm all for being delinquent.

Surely mcbobar could sell the club at a cut price to the right party-someone who will back the manager and listen too,and understand the fans frustrations.
But,not any old buyer of course.

Maybe as a token of goodwill, he could pay off the contracts of 3-4 of the overpaid / underperforming leaches at the end of the season (you know who they all are !!) to give us a chance next season...........

post: 472586, member: 875"]The problem is that too many people are happy lapping up the words that Kevin McCabe preaches, but what he preaches, and what he actually does are two completely different things.

I happen to think that he came with the intentions of making money for Scarborough Property Group off the back of the football, and more specifically the ground. When that didn't quite work out i have actually started to think he has put the club in to managed decline.

The land that Bramall Lane sits on, is worth a hell of a lot of money to a property developer.......

He's not loosing sleep over having £30/40M invested.

Won't lose a penny of it now he owns the ground.

Fans turn on him; he lets the club go into admin and the resurrected club that rises from the ashes can't play at the ground cus planning permission has been granted for housing that will deliver over £100M to him.

With all the history that is the hallowed turf of BDTBL - could a real Blades fan do that ???

Now thats a good idea but whch away ground can house 16K Blades?

£100m for the Bramall Lane site for housing. What's that about £15m an acre? Bloody hell, move over Knightsbridge - S2 is the place to be!!!

Dunno I only watch the Blades, and I've seen plenty this season to know that we are not getting value for money from so-called professionals who are payed very well. Our defeat last night was not a blip.

Gross revenue? Nowhere near that.

He's bought a plot in Salford with planning permission for 200 homes for £55M. That was on the cheap off the administrator.

200 homes @£185K = £37M
Salford is not positioned as well as The Lane so £100M is not a pipe dream

You telling me that plots for a houses in Salford are going for £275k each? Have you added a '0' somewhere?

Build houses on BDTBL ?
The houses would be about as mobile as the present shower of sh!te that plays there!

I am hesitant to open a debate re McCabe for fear of getting slaughtered on here but as a retired bank manager of the old school due to many incorrect footballing decisions taken since our loss of premiership status ,he has got us firmly fixed in this division.I can understand how he has got us here but at this stage I will say no more except to say that I cannot see how any investors will come in as he owns the club lock stock and barrel.
No one will buy us while we remain in this division.
End of comments at this stage although I could write much more.
No one can be more frustrated than us older Blades.

Isn't that the ultimate irony. He gives up, we fold and he gets everything and no one can take it away from him. Just a thought for those who still think he has given a single penny of his own money to us.

McCabe hasn't put a penny in that he won't get back 10 fold should things go a little awry for him. And he gets to blame the fans for him giving up. All I would like to see is some honesty and consistent policy. Not lies and smokescreens designed to make him look like he is trying hard but in actual fact when you look at it he appears to be ringfencing certain saleable assets away from the club so should anything naughty happen to us we are left with the shit and no pot to piss in.
