A hypothetical scenario.. consider if you will, that you want to sell your house.
You've put a new bathroom in, new roof, new windows... the lot. You've had it valued by independent valuers and the price is fair, although at the bottom of your heart, you know the price fails to reflect what you've spent.
Some scruff comes to look round your house, hooks his hands into his belt loops and offers you a tenner for it because it wants to make it into a brothel.
Now you've emotionally and financially invested in this house. You want to sell because the time is right, but you don't want to sell for less than it's worth and you definitely don't want to sell to some pikey who's going to remove all your fixtures and fittings.
All the time, your kids and your friends are calling you a fool and telling you to take the tenner and run when all you want is a nice old chap who's going to come in and look after your work.
Slightly facetious... yes. But no more facetious than saying that someone could buy us for a quid.
