Those days were bonkers. The onset of the bbc. We used to go to away games with Kaz 83/84 ish. Coach left from John St. Coach was half full of bbc’ers and our beer drinking lot. We would arrive at places like Bradford, Preston, Gillingham hours before kickoff. They would get off the coach and turn one way, we always went the opposite direction. One trip to Palace, we won 3-1, Mel Eves scored one, Morris penalty, can’t remember who else. Coach pulls up in Covent Garden after the match, driver states anyone not back by midnight and they’ll be left behind. Eight or nine of us are back on the board at midnight, driver revs up and is off. The other 45 introduced themselves to Chelsea in some soho pub. Great journey back to Sheffield in an empty coach.
