What formation is the best ??

I was having a think in my day off from work - as how the blades play and what suits them the best - we all know the great success of 4-5-1 at anfield and the like but a straight back 4 doesnt seem to work - it was mentioned on a build up to a game cant remember which - the wing backs should be used and i was thinking it would be the perfect option because then you get 6/7 players attacking then 7 defending then i thought why bother with the midfield we never do anyway when we have got one so player 5 across the back and 5 up front would make it a bit more interesting in any case !!

Agreed, all players know exactly what their role is in a 4-4-2.

Whether they fulfill that role is another question entirely.

At home id go 4-3-3 but away a simple and hard-working 4-4-2

With the players we've got I'd say a 5-3-2/3-5-2 with wing backs would work well.

But I prefer a 4-4-2 in general.

yeah thats what i meant sorry - typo thinking about it we could do with some more defenders

and HMS Shipperly as sweeper, nowt would get past him, maye 1-21-15-12?
