It was 0-0 last night then, we should have just walked off as the clock ticked 90.A standard football match is 90 minutes.
You can only score in the 94th or 95th minutes if a cup or knockout match goes to extra time.

You said they had given up and we hadn'tand. . its more about defending and keeping clean sheets for teams that go up

I was more on about Naughtons feeble attempt to stop Brewster whereas Basham was switched onYou said they had given up and we hadn't
They had literally just been denied a goalscoring opportunity seconds before we scored
The game only being 90 mins long when it was actually 97 mins long (2 at HT and 5 at the end of 90).Which bit are you struggling with?
Agreed. Same against Sunderland as well. McAtee robbed their lad and the game turned on that. I could say the same about the point at Luton. Bits of quality have changed games for us when we haven't been at our best. To my eyes it looks like we have plenty of quality that can do that, I suppose the alternative view is that we are riding our luck.A bit of quality won an even game, no steal, no smash and grab, nothing to see here![]()
I sort of agree with you but using your own logic you should have said in your post extra 5 after the 92 as they played 47 in the first half! (As it wasn't really '90' was it?!)The game only being 90 mins long when it was actually 97 mins long (2 at HT and 5 at the end of 90).
they are not extra minutes but replacement minutes for enforced stoppages.. the actual time of length of games is hardly changedThe game only being 90 mins long when it was actually 97 mins long (2 at HT and 5 at the end of 90).
You seem to be confusing how you personally describe the timings in football matches with the actual number of minutes played.
You don’t hear many conversations between right minded folk saying “I enjoyed that goal in the 90+5 minute last night pal” do you?!
No shit Sherlockthey are not extra minutes but replacement minutes for enforced stoppages.. the actual time of length of games is hardly changed
but with stoppages for head injuries drinks breaks and subs need replacing. most games in the sixties and seventies had few subs and games never stopped if one of the crowd fell ill
I read somewhere that the ball is actually in play for only about 70 mins during a game, but the time for most stoppages - for free kicks, throw-ins, goal kicks etc - isn't added on.they are not extra minutes but replacement minutes for enforced stoppages.. the actual time of length of games is hardly changed

these are all recent changes... 10 minute stoppages are now commonplace brought about by television and health and safetyNo shit Sherlock

Potato Pota-toeI get what you're saying but my original point was just about the timing of the goal.
It doesn't matter how long a football match goes on for, the clock always stops at 90 minutes.
Anything after that takes place in additional time.
So Khadra's winner was scored during the fourth minute of added time, not the 94th minute.
No regular football match has ever had a 94th minute, it's not possible.
