Sorry if this was posted yesterday ( didn't read yesterdays posts ) . I took my 2 grandsons to the Inter game and as they like to see the players warming up we were in our seats for 7pm, at 7-10 Tony Currie and lots of his old teammates were brought out to mark the renaming of the south stand in his honour.
What a let down this was with probably less than 5,000 fans in the ground, why couldn't they do it at h/t with 18,000 plus there to show their appreciation to the second best player in the clubs history ( Joe Shaw being the best IMHO ) or better still do it at the Swansea game in front of a bigger crowd and a world wide audience on Sky. I hope we can somehow find a way to put this gaffe behind us and give this occasion the recognition it deserves.

Got tbh I got in the ground just after 7 purposefully to witness that and I'd missed it!

Surely there's an 'Outstanding Unseen Contributor Lounge' for fans favourite Dean 'legs' Hammond.

I agree. It was the perfect spectacle to put on at half time.
I made a big deal out of it to my dad, we get to see Milan and our stand named after his favourite ever player in one night.
To be honest I thought it was done in the executive boxes and missed by even more fans.

I boycotted the unveiling out of protest, should have been Monty’s name on that stand.
It would've been easier to have centered it as well.
"A bit further to the left, towards his shot against Leicester, but not quite as far as the one against Crewe"

Out of interest is the re-naming of the stand for one season or is it a permanent thing?

If it’s just for a season or whatever akin to the kaughable naming of the Jess Ennis stand, I’ll be very disappointed.

I'm still waiting for the opening of the John Ebbrell Medical Suite.

Can't wait for the trip advisor reports:

"I was only seen for 45 minutes and it cost me a million pound. What a let down. I won't be returning, and neither will my wife!"

Plans are being finalised for ‘Higgopotumus’ family themed All You Can Eat buffet restaurant.

Don't know why we make such a fuss, was quick to ditch us and chase the £££££'s put M1

They were all in the Tony Currie suite at half time, getting pissed.

On the way to the Game, I did say to the Grandson, make the most of it ........

this may be the only time I shell out for a Half and Half Scarf ........ he replied Wot?

So I explained ............ then didnt see any, so now I am in schtuk now cos he didnt end up with one, and probably in the Twats thread as well

How many turned out for the opening of the Jess Ennis stand ? Even she didn't did she ?
First she knew about it was when she was driving past! Or maybe she read it in the Star?

At least we don’t have the megalomania naming of stands with the owners name written in the seats, like some Sheffield club!

Mind you, having “McCabe” in the seats wouldn’t be a problem, but having “Prince Abdullah Bin this that and the other” would require a ground extension.

I've been campaigning for the Daryl Westlake Sauce Station for years now, not a peep from the club.
