Dids. Ok the things he tried to make happen didn’t happen but he has a level of technical ability that Burke can only possess in his dream.

Didzy was more wank than Burke tonight. If your honestly looking at just tonight with clean slate. (Which I bet u won't)

Didzy roamed alot but didn't progress anything and took wank shots that were never going in.
Didzy behind the striker just doesn't spot the openings quick enough like for example Duffy did, so hangs on to the ball too long and then only option is to take a poor low percentage shot, which loses possession. He has moments of brilliance, but often slows down the play and the opportunity is gone.

Brewster worse than Burke 🤣🤣 fuck me
Genuine question what had brewster done? Burke has scored a couple and created a number of goals because of his pace.. I genuinely can't remember brewster having any involvement in a goal we've scored.. Correct me if I'm wrong

We'll have him back.

He's just a dumb lad who needs playing right. He was never a 13m+ player, but he's a perfectly capable Championship player.

For us though he was brilliant as an attacking wide man. Odd to see him used as a more central forward
That's the problem with our fans, we play him out of position, he underperforms and suddenly he's a scapegoat and the cause of all problems

The lack of assists is a genuine weakness for McGoldrick, given his style and role. He can link play, scored a few last season and does a lot of good things, but we can't expect him to suddenly turn into an assist maker.

We must also not make the same mistake again; thinking throwing on a lot of strikers is the way to open up defences. There is a need for vision and creativity, players who can beat a man and hurt teams.

Freeman and Brunt are two such player types, but it remains to be seen if Freeman's still got it and Brunt is probably having to get some experience on loan before he gets a chance.

..but he can’t actually play football - as in, kick it in a straight line?

Thread title words got mixed up

Burkes got fuck all

Slavs system is built around getting the ball up to Burke ffs!

I can’t recall when we had 75% possession, unfortunately I can remember all to weep zero shots on target

a system where Baldock (and Osbourne)is neither a full back or a wing back, Berge is made to stand in the corner like a naughty boy when we take corners and we have 4 players <18yrds from byline for every goal kick.

the corners are played to the near post but we overload back post.

berge and didsy dint know what to do cause we bypassed midfield on the rare occasion we left our one half

Brewster is now a winger?mcburnie a midfield pivot man.

FFS what just happened? The poorest performance given the squad I think I’ve ever seen

..but he can’t actually play football - as in, kick it in a straight line?

That's all he needs to do with his pace though.

4 Champ goals for us inside 3 weeks when he left us, and also in a side which was nearly relegated that season because it was full of dross. Just try him in his natural position.

And we still got robbed. He has absolutely no football brain or ability. Incredibly wank. Not just wank. Incredibly.

Can someone tell me what he’s good at? Running down the channels? Ok, but why bother when every time he just knocks it out of play off his shins.

Another piece of sir Wilder has hamstrung us with.

Before anyone tries to weigh in and tell me he was our best forward, do me a favour eh - fucking jog on.

I don't think we got Burke for free: if I remember correctly, we swapped him for Callum Robinson.

Based on WBA's game the other night, that decision may prove to be very costly. They have a fantastic championship player, we have a sprinter with seemingly no footballing ability

I feel sad and embarrassed for Burke and our club when he plays. He really is a bloke who has lost his way.... not sure exactly what his way ever was, or if he ever had one. I'm not one to heap abuse on players who pull on the red and white stripes but he really does look like he's lost whatever he might have had. A bit Forrest Gump...... Wilder thought he saw something and obviously Slav thinks he has something to offer too.... but to me he looks like a bloke who has his sprinting practice hindered by having a football at his feet. That said, it's not fair to heap a load of blame on him.... he's not alone. And I genuinely hope that the professional coaches at our club can help him (and a few others) turn their games around. But I'm not hopeful in Ollie's case.......

He was the worst player on the pitch tonight by an absolute country mile.

Still not got a clue why he was as highly rated as he was, or why he went for some much money in the past.

The sad thing is we are lumbered with him on big money for the next few years.

Not sure why Burke deserves a thread of his own slating him tonight. Not the reason we lost, and a number of players put in worse performances than him. Fleck, Robinson, Osborne, Norwood to name 4.

We paid £25m for brewster can you tell me what he's good at? At least Burke has scored and created goals for us
We paid £18m plus £7 in possible add ons (which we'll never reach),hes still only very young, and played with a lot more aggression and confidence when he come on.
The lad will be different again when he gets his first goal.

I'd be really interested to know why the fuck you say that?
Please explain. What was it he did to warrant that statement?
He hit the post! .............Then what?
Ran fast.
Agreed.
But more importantly are you a Ken who’s bald, or is your surname Baldken?

Burke needs to be told to do very specific things to make his game more simple and to utilise his strength: pace.

Example: Adama Traore was "formula one car with no driver" until a manager (I forget which) told him to just power past one man and then just put the ball in the box. It meant he didn't have to overthink about what to do and just follow the simple instructions.

Burke seems to do something great initially and then try to do more and fucks it up. He needs to use his pace effectively and then just release the ball. He's not good enough to be having loads of the ball.

Misleading. Half the time he lost the ball was due to a bad touch where he gave up possession or ran it out of play, not necessarily passed it to them

WBA gave us £3m and Burke for Robinson. They probably still got the better end of the deal.

The shot that hit the post looked straight !
It is easy to forget the effect on defences when someone of pace goes at them. It pushes them back and gives opportunities elsewhere.
