Walker when doing our game for Sky said that the Champions League was their priority this season. So they'll want their full squad for Bayern and that game v Arsenal might be their last chance to win the PL. 8 behind Arsenal with a game in hand so they desperately need to beat Arsenal. Second leg v Bayern on the 19th us on the 22nd Arsenal 1st v2nd on 26th.

Give Haaland the day off to focus on the League and Champions League

Not looking forward to Robinson and Egan having to mark him .
Norwood and Fleck vs KDB and Rodri is bad enough, we don't need Robinson chasing Haaland too.

Cant play Fleck- he'll be on oxygen or kiss of life ( are u giving it to him?) after 25 minutes.

we cannot under any circumstances play fleck against city norwood we will probably have to

Yeovil v Arsenal-when was that.?
The only reference to Yeovil v Arsenal I can find is 1971 when Arsenal won 3-0. Wrexham beat Arsenal 2-1 in 1992 - so it seems that we did well to get past them

Alvarez starting and Haaland on the bench doesn’t fill me with much joy either. It’s like when they used to play Jesus and bring Aguero on!

Mahrez v Lowe hardly inspires me with confidence either 🤣

There are 13 professional football clubs that bear the name 'City'.

I do not know how or why everyone came to the consensus that the Mancs alone get to claim that single word title. They were even being called 'City' back when they were utter dogshit.

Well fuck them, they can suck my balls and tongue my arsehole. I for one shall be calling them 'Manchester', in order to redress the balance from here on in.

Just need to slip some laxatives in their evening meal so they are on the khazi all morning being drained.
💩💩💩💩

It's a long shot and Man City doing to us what they did to Burnley is more likely than us winning. But we're in the fight with nothing to lose. Good enough for me.

Sepp Van Den Berg played against his parent club in October 2021 for Preston against Liverpool

Chelsea also gave permission for Mount and Tomori to play against them for Derby in the League Cup in 2018.

I'm sure if Man City granted permission they'd be allowed to play, but I doubt they will.

seriously as we all joked about how different ways haaland is going to ruin us or just the reigning world cup champion that thats 2nd choice.

but football is a crazy game. you never know in football as 9 out of 10 times we lose this game. but there is always that 1 time. as look at wigan in 2013. What Wrexham 70places between us, Even arsenal in 2003 i forgot what a mismatch on paper that was, as everyone bar Seaman. went on to play major parts to their invincible season & to this day we know we wouldve beaten them but for save of the century.

& if we are clinical & get a bit of luck. who knows

Yes - got the team wrong. It was 1949 Yeovil 2 Sunderland 1 Fourth round tie. Yeovil were a non-league side Sunderland were top Division 1 side. with Len Shackleton and Willie Watson playing. One of the biggest upsets ever.

It'd take a miracle for us to not concede at least three.

Out only hope is that they rest a few big players. City are away in Germany midweek for the Champions League prior to the semi (we'll be hoping Bayern can take them to extra time there) and have a big game in the Premier League against Arsenal after it.

If they do that, it might be 3-0 instead of 7 😂
Best hope is that there is a strike for all transport in Germany and they can't get back in time!

League cup is governed by EPL and EFL

FA cup is governed by the FA.

Completely different... if this was the league cup I would have said good chance they would be able to play.

But current rules for this years FA Cup makes it impossible for Doyle and McAtee to play even with Citys approval.

It’s strange that the ruling has been changed this season. What possible reason have the FA said that loan players cannot play against their parent club, even with permission? Seems bizarre, mind you nothing the football authorities decide seems to be done with any common sense these days.

It was in reply to that it had never been done before ever

If we don’t play Fleck, who the hell can we put on the left side of midfield?

I covered in a previous post the Blades' excellent FA Cup record against City - never beaten in four previous ties, and with two replays, the head-to-head in this competition reads (from a Blades perspective): W - 4, D - 2, L - 0, F - 9, A - 2.

City used to have a great record in FA Cup semi-finals, winning 10 of the 12 they'd ever been in until and including 2013. But their record since then is pretty horrible - lost four out of five between 2017 and last season, winning only against Brighton in 2019.

The Blades may well have a bigger and noisier support in the stadium on the day, as well. Only anecdotal, of course, but a few City fans I know who usually attend all matches such as this seem to be giving it a miss this time for reasons to do with cost of living and the difficulties of train travel if it's a late kick-off. They seem to be banking that they'll make the final, but could their complacency on semi-final day be telling?

As has been said, City will definitely rotate given that they face Bayern in the midweek before and Arsenal in the midweek after. This City squad doesn't have the quality in depth that they've had in previous years, so two or three injuries and they could be fielding an unfamiliar name or two.

Osborn.

Or Ndiaye.

Coulibaly is right footed but isn’t one footed. He can also use his left.
Yep, I could go with Osborn, but I think I’d prefer him at left wing back. Lowe is a poor defender, maybe he could play the LCM role?…Beggars can’t be choosers.

It‘s not a zero chance of beating City there is no such thing in football.

It’s about 0.3 % of a chance, that is not being negative it’s realistic, on current form they are probably the best team on the planet at the moment.

Put it this way it would be the biggest upset in the history of the competition if we pulled it off, it would dwarf Sunderland beating Leeds in the 1973 final.

If we can have three passes, a corner and a few throw ins I’ll be a happy man.

Whatever happens, PG won't be taking us lightly in the build up. He will know that anything can happen in football, including huge upsets.

For such an upset, we will need to be at 100%, in every aspect, for the whole game, and we need them to have a bit of an off day, and / or make a few mistakes.

Already that's a lot of ifs that need to work in our favour, but it's still a possibility.
