with comparisons to players, jags was obviously a success and excelled after turning down a big money move, but there are others such as woodhouse and wayne quinn who we had gd offers for who never achieved anything once the move didnt happen.
From the clubs point of a view, i think there would be £6 million reason to sell. SUFC PLC is basically a property development company that just happens to operate a football club, and with the housing market and credit crunch a big offer for any player would have to be considered.
As for inspiring youngsters, the message come in, do well, and you'll have the chance to move to a big club, play european football, earn HUGE money and get in the england squad, Theo Walcott for example, could also be inspiring to many.
