Yep looks like him

I'm sure Wilder said recently he's still looking for a wide player

Was on loan at Millers, but don't know how he performed? 32, has he still got it? Only made 5 appearances in 2016

Never heard of him. Any good?

I see age isn't particularly on his side...

Chris Burke is someone that 3 or 4 years ago if have been delighted with us signing in the Championship in the event we were promoted – I've seen nothing of him the last couple of years, but if he has an ounce of his past ability I think he'd be a great option to add.

Mike Stephenson saying on Twitter that Reece Brown (not Wes Brown) training with us today?

Links a couple wks ago to Wes Brown obviously mistaken for his brother Reece! Far right on pic this morning. #sufc

Any idea which Reece Brown? There's 2 of 'em. One 20yr old and one 24 yr old.

Found him, didn't realise he was Wes' brother.

Actually, if the lad in the picture looks about the same height as Leon Clarke it is the 24 year old (6ft 2), if not it is the lad from Birmingham (5ft 9), I can't be sure from the angle of the picture how tall he is, but would say it is the taller of the two (I think).

I've always liked Chris Burke. Proper winger, very clever, crafty, evasive and skillful. When he had a bit of pace he was brilliant on his day. But he never relied on his pace too heavily which is a key consideration with older players. Glen Little is a decent comparison - we signed him when he was about 34 but because he never relied on pace he was still effective and was a worthwhile signing.

It depends what condition he's in, he looks a bit chunky on that photo but ultimately it's up to Wilder and staff to decide. I'd be surprised if he couldn't give us at least one season. If he can then I'd love to see him sign. He'd be too good for most L1 defenders.

The tattoo on the photo goes all the way down to the left wrist - a bit like what this guy here has...

Burke's 33 in December and looks a fair bit heavier in the pic then he did in his Forest days.

It's a no from me unless he'd accept a short term pay as he plays deal until he proves himself. We've had far too many older Championship and even some Premiership players who turned out to be way past their sell by date IMO).

5 matches on loan with the Millers and 2 goals. Not a bad return.

If we plan on using Lavery as a striker then it still leaves scope for another wide player given that I'd be surprised if we are playing 3-5-2 at home.

We've Duffy, a bona fide starter. We've Chapman, to me impact sub, anything else is a bonus. Scougall will be there or thereabouts. Does Wilder risk Brooks or does he take an old head for half a season or a season? He then has no potential reliance on Brooks, still has the option of sending on a youth loan (I think) and is covered with a former international, who has always played in the league above, is proven and scores goals?

In contrast, I see less value in Brown. We have 2 left centre backs, 2 right centre backs, one of which can cover right back. Both Basham and Whiteman can also cover plus Freeman has an excellent injury history.

I'd rather Holla or similar to put genuine pressure on Basham. He has a bit of a free ride. Like Brooks, Whiteman can deputise for Basham if injured but is unlikely to push him out. A youth loan for him would be good and get some genuine pressure on Basham.

I may be talking bollocks about youth loans. But you get my gist. Brooks and Whiteman are nice to have if we've got the luxury but you can't beat genuine competition. 6 months in non-league could be the making of them if this is at all possible.

I'd rather Brooks and Whiteman go on loan to L2, somewhere like Crewe. Non league's OK to give the kids a taste of men's football but the standard below the conference is poor and I'd question how much they'd actually learn playing at a low level. Given they've already played a bit with the first team I think non league would be a step backwards.
No problem with someone like Wright Jnr going to the conference but if they do well there they need bumping up quickly before playing at that level becomes a habit.
In the JTW I'd even consider loaning them to one of the clubs at the bottom of L1 (assuming we're near the top). Although it's arguable whether they'd be better off in a L1 relegation battle or a L2 promotion campaign.

I remember Brown having a solid match in (defensive) midfield for Oldham against us a couple of seasons ago. He's also played right back.

Chris Burke would be a terrific signing if he still has any pace and can keep himself fit. A fine winger, with two great feet. Really pleased to see we're looking at him because I imagine he would do well at this level.
