I know of a club once that had won their league by 2 points with a game to play. Team in 2nd had finished their season. Their last game was against a club who needed to win to stay up. In the game they were messing around and a player left a foot in and referee cautioned him. No team sheets at the time so ref asked player for name and he said "Mickey Mouse". Referee left it at that and put a report in that he had cautioned a Mr Mouse but he didn't believe it to be his real name.

FA investigated and could not find a Michael Mouse registered to the club. They awarded the game in question to the opposition who stayed up as a result. They also deducted a further three points for playing an ineligible player and so lost the league title.

I don't know how they can make that statement about Heckingbottom, he always is and has been very careful about what he says regarding anything other than his coaching and managing job of the Sheffield United players. If I have missed the part where Heckingbottom does make this statement I will take this back but all I heard was him saying 'other teams' need punishing. This is another load of BS journalism trying to make United look bad and I think it needs bringing to the attention of SUFC.
