He's had those connections since he joined. Not seen any sign of them being utilised. All I see is funding the status quo, i.e. a loss. No improvement or hint of proper investment. I don't see why anyone should have any confidence in the bloke.
He has now opted or made an offer to take full control, if he did want to provide further funding sources then as full owner that would be the time to do it. As a 50% stakeholder why would he want to seek optional funding? If he has nothing further to offer except the status quo then why bother with a take over?

I can partly see the point you are making, which I think is that no one in their right mind would introduce investment or investors to the club for the greater glory of someone else who may benefit. (His pal and 50% shareholding Buddy Kev). However, wasn't that the original deal? Matched investment? If that is correct, I would assume that DFPOFA might have had those contacts back in the Clough and Adkins eras but elected not to use them. Maybe he knew Kev couldn't match them or that wasn't the deal. We just don't know. Maybe the comments by Kev about significant investment in the Championship were to do with the fact that he knew DFP wouldn't introduce Megacash Inc until he felt it was worth a punt on his own? We just don't know. However I find it strange that he even entered into the deal with Kev if he really didn't need him in the first place or that he didn't try and take him out earlier.

If he has triggered the war over the assets and there is doubt about that, (Sean Thornton posts since the dawn of time) then I would imagine he sees an advantage to be gained from sole ownership. The point is, whether he has anything further to offer the club from that sole ownership (i.e. Benefitting the club) or whether it is a move designed to benefit him.

For two transfer windows we were shopping at Poundland. CW has had to extend the contracts of ageing players because he isn't getting replacements. Who was it who wouldn't or couldn't invest at this most vital time and opportunity? That is the question. My bet is that Kev has called his bluff and said "here it is bid for it" knowing he can't afford it and DFP is wanting his investment back. The alternative is DFP saying "I can take this club to the next level now Kev with significant investment (that I had before but didn't bother to use) so butt out". If that is the case why is Kev said to be "battling to take control"? He wants to retire and wants paying out. Why did DFP invest in a lower league Belgian club, when he could have placed that investment in SUFC. Then again, from your side of the argument, why did his board/club appointments consist of a continental DOF and a lawyer skilled in mergers and acquisitions if he had no ongoing plans?

Basically, we don't know what they're doing and I suspect neither do they! Waste of a post but I'm not erasing it.
