To be right, ex players(employees) should be nowhere near scarce tickets to watch United (unless they can pull up the loyalty points required).

So, we can take from that it was McCabe's decision to sign Evans back out of some sort of nostalgia and feeling of injustice? signing a guy for half a million and paying him a few grand a week 'on principle' therefore lumbering Wilder with him in the squad, what a dick move.
The “on principle” remark was a reference to when we offered to let him train with us when he was released. Wilder wasn’t with us at the time.

Interesting he mentions the ground developments. Shows it's still in his mind. Would love to see at least the kop done, the South once we're back and established in the Premier.
I think that McCabe being the man and the fan he is means that he is thinking about pretty much everything about the club all the time :)

The fact that he mentions abuse for it leading to him having to say no to ched suggests that he was referring to the decision to bring him back when released from prison.....NOT the signing of him earlier this year doesn't it?

He fucking isnt
He's been seen at loads of blades games
I'm not saying he hates us, but he is a Wednesday fan. He's been seen at loads of there games too.

Coincidence this has come up was catching up with a mate who knows him well. originally just a Wednesday fan but now he loves both clubs.

How many can say that.

I've never heard about him being at pig games
Sounds like swine shite to me mate

Well I'm sure if Harry Maguire is on Leppings Lane with his five mates tomorrow, someone on here will see him, but I seriously have my doubts.

I don't have a problem if ex players, current players are given tickets to games, but I certainly don't think that those tickets should come out of the 2,300 tickets allocated for us common supporter folk :(

They should at least state the fans' allocation minus those given away.

I've seen Maguire at half a dozen home games since he left.He was also at the Chessie home game, albeit in the away end watching his brother play for them.I've also seen Matt Lowton, he was at the Bolton away (league) game last season and spoke very well about United.

Wilder has said it was his decision. Seems we can't trust the bloke on anything.
Don't be naive Sean.
As I recall , McCabe pays Wilder's salary. If McCabe instructs Wilder to put out a white lie , that's what he'll do.
IF McCabe was the idiot who wanted an unfit striker to be signed , he would be careful to ensure that for the sake of appearances , the public would be told it was the manager's decision.
To do otherwise would only serve to undermine Wilder's authority publicly.
The fact that Wilder might have told one isolated lie in order to protect his own reputation (as a manager who makes ALL the recruitment decisions and doesn't tolerate interference from the owners) does not make him a bad person or untrustworthy.
To me it is a sign of the Club being run in a much improved way since Wilder's arrival.
The fact is that we signed a crock at a time when we should have been improving our strikeforce (because we were going up a division).
No one will ever know which man made the decision , but each supporter can make his own assessment of the evidence.
I believe it was McCabe but I may be wrong.
However , IF it was McCabe , then Wilder would have been obliged to lay claim to the decision because
A) for his own reputation he could hardly admit that he wasn't in charge of ALL player recruitment; and B) for the reputation of the Club as a whole , it cannot be publicly admitted that the co-owner has indulged his own obsession with the Evans saga.
The fact that (in my opinion) a face-saving corporate lie has been told doesn't detract from my my total admiration for Wilder.
And I have no axe to grind over the Evans saga , it's water under the bridge. I just wish he was fit to play.

It makes you wonder how many tickets they give away doesn't it?

Even when it's a tiny allocation for a Sheffield derby.
As far as I know, the players only get two complimentary tickets, so it's even more disproportionate.

Didn't CW say that if decisions were made without his say so he would walk out of the front door. He is certainly a man of principles, I believe him and trust him

Don't be so naive MIS .

Of course Wilders going to say that , he has to do . But ( a ) on a personal level he's going to tell lots of lies in order to protect his reputation and ( b ) he will tell lots of little corporate white lies on behalf of the organisation that hired him . You don't really believe he was hired because he had a shred of integrity do you ?

Wake up and smell the coffee will you .

disinformation.. it's about time

Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to accept I could be miles wide of the mark here. I just think with all the information to hand, it could be a McCabe decision.

For example, was it Clough's decision to let him train with us when he first came out? I don't know, but I reckon not. I just think McCabe has been desperate for the chance for us to get him back, and could have even'struck a deal' with chesterfield to have him for a season, and that we'd pay 500k at the end of it. I don't know, could be nowhere near, but I just have a hunch on this one.

I'd also point out that managers do lie a lot! I also believe Sharp was not injured last week but rested. Wilder said he was injured, but I also reckon he lied on that one. I'm certain Sharp will play tomorrow.

As I say, my theory will never 'come out' so it will only ever be a conspiracy, which is usually a concept I do not subscribe to either!

I'm guessing you will be wanting to apologise about now? UTB

To be fair to Harry, he was there in the thick of it, not in some corporate box. Well done Harry top lad, sorry I doubted you.

Obviously has a decent amount of loyalty points too ;)
