I don't think it was on sky, sorry. I couldn't find it on free view either. May be online somewhere?

Was told yesterday it's available on Freeview but can only be received at Crosspool o_O Don't know how true that is but I can't get it at Dore/Totley.

Its only available on free view to people who use the Crookes tower, they are looking at another tower at Grenoside which will make it available to the whole of Sheffield

I wonder if it's linked to "London Live". That's a free to view channel down here and it's actually quite good. Programmes with a local focus and loads of repeats of quality comedy shows with a London connection, so things like Spaced, Smack The Pony and Black Books. There's other crap like London's Burning too.

I guess Sheffield Live just shows Sharpe all day?

London Live is proper shit. Whenever I turn it on it's showing London's Burning or there's some clown bumbling over the news or weather.

There was a police series set in Sheffield a while ago. I think John Duttine was in it, so being a Barnsley lad his accent was pretty good, some of the others however... Out of the Blue I've just recalled as the title of it.

That Prisoners Wives thing was also set in Sheffield, and the the great This is England. Go back a bit further and the brilliant Threads was filmed in Sheffield.

All in all a blinding improvement on London's fucking Burning. :)

Christ SEB, 'London's Fucking Burning'? Was that the Paul Raymond interpretation? If that title is to be believed I'm looking forward to a tale of debauchery, corruption, and sexual depravity.....how on earth did I miss it the first time around?

Coming soon to a revue bar near you! Lots of references to 'hose' and 'pump' and 'getting your chopper out'

...and it's all done in the best possible taste!

Exteriors were filmed at Leyton Fire Station. I remember my mum used to call it London's Boring.

Dont get all the fuss over 'this is England' film was ok but nothing special and I thought the series or mini series thing was proper tudd, the only interesting thing was that it was in Parkhill.

But Threads, that was brill!

I never knew it was Leyton, I'm sure someone ages ago told me it was Blackwall, it's what I've always thought anyway.

Brilliant SEB, that gives me an idea for a show. Blackwells Burning.

A weekly show where supporters of clubs he's completely fucked over take it in turns answering question and then getting a chance to light parts of his anatomy.
Done in alphabetical order Bury, Leeds, Luton and finally us to finish him off.

Now where's the number for Channel 5?

Threads is awesome. It was the most disturbing and harrowing thing I've ever seen, but brilliantly done. It was 30 (2 years older than I am!) earlier this week. Radio Sheffield did an hour's documentary on it.

Two brilliant films made in Shefffield , "Kill List" and "Looks and Smiles" latter one by Ken Loach.

Full Monty good first time round but no desire to watch again.

Just a thought, but you're not a Wendy fan by any chance ?

I only tend to watch at night when all the comedies are on. She watches a show sometimes called "Food Junkies" and we've picked up a few good ideas for restaurants to eat at.
