'We' can't even influence our teams results (unless Shin giving away tram news really does affect something).
We can if we attend the match tbf (I generally can't, so that's definitely not a dig at anyone).

Atmosphere and support.

Looking forward to the Preston game, they have only scored 3 goals so far this season and only conceded 2 o_O

Ched will be playing. We'd better remember not to sing his name this time

The Championship is only 18 years old so that's a lot of teams gaining 20+ points from their first nine games. In four of these seasons it will have been the top two. Surprised so many got promoted with over 100 points still to play for.

Who were the 5 teams

just under half of teams of the3 x 18. =54 clubs promoted from the championship have started with just over 2 points per game

A better indication would be if we looked back to when they started to award 3 points for a win - not when the 2nd tier had a change of name.

Which side holds the record for most points after 9 games in "Championship history" (ie second tier since 2004)

Answer: Sheffield United in 2005.

Some other good "after 9 games in Championship history" stats:

  • this year the gap between relegation and play-offs is the lowest after 9 games in Championship history (5 - it's usually around 9)
  • Reading have the worst ever goal difference for a side in the top 4 after 9 games in Championship history
  • Preston... well, they've set so many records they've earned their own thread in Other Football and Sport

That Championship 2005-06 season was pretty mad. We had 30 points after 11 games, 6 points clear of Reading - yet it was Reading who went on to set the record for the most points by any team ever in a 46-game season.

Good calls 😳
Clearly you didn’t attend our games v Reading & Slumderland
😂

To be fair it shows a) how crap I am at betting and b) how unpredictable the Championship is.

Norwich v Bristol City wasn't far off a draw at 3-2
Readings home record prior to Weds was 4-0-0
And to be honest who saw West Brom being done by Birmingham

😂

Never see a poor bookie.....still, there's always a chance my 17-fold acca for £225K comes in.........right?

I agree about the Preston game but still going to have a fiver on over 5.5 goals.... 😂
