I think fans should be forgiven for believing he cost £10M.

Cannon is bang average for a champ striker, he's played plenty of games as a number 9, only ever looking decent in a front two, while offering next to nothing in the one up front tactics we usually play, doing some lovely lay-offs to nobody on occasion but mostly just stood around waiting.

On occasions he looks like a proper Billy Sharp-style goal poacher, on others he looks like he's never kicked a ball in his life, his fee doesn't matter for a £4million striker he's still poor, Campbell and Bamford are clearly better and he's blocking One's path to the first team as Wilder keeps picking him regardless of how poor he is.

He'll do a decent job somewhere but needs to be in a team that plays to his strengths rather than one that continually exposes his weaknesses.

I’m always inclined to believe that people working in the game know better than internet stats gurus. But in the case of Cannon, the statistical assessment of Cannon we saw on here was incredibly accurate.

Decent shot on him, but little else to offer.

He will learn and improve, but at his current rate of progress he won’t be peaking at United.

Can is above average at most things good finisher , good movement , decent pace and physicality

He doesn’t have one massive attribute that stands out

He needs a run he needs to be trusted as the main man for a full season

Id take the money and cut our losses. Hes barely flashed for us and offers literally nothing more often than not, games just seem to pass him by completely - he’s just there!

He might flourish elsewhere but looks like a league 1 striker without intelligence or a defining skill set tonplay well at rhis kevel consistently

He's also a terrible footballer and has the worst awareness and short passing of any player I've ever seen at this level. He can shoot powerfully, that's it.

He's a throw back to 90s forwards. Bogliners who make no contribution to the team. The only one left is Haaland, who's a physical freak

If it was a game of Snakes and Ladders, we are currently sliding down the big snake from top of the board to nearly back at the start.

I think this season and next summer is all about resetting. We have to hope we can manage to do that as a championship club. And that we have a manager who can navigate it and come out the other end capable of building a new team on a championship budget.

We simply carry too much wages from bad recruitment.

This season is a write off. That's glaringly obvious.

We need exit plans for Campbell, McGuinness, Chong, Cannon - maybe even Burrows and Tanganga.
