Personally be happy. He seems to stay fit which is more we can say about our current strikers. Be nice to actually get someone through door. Is it a gamble with the price yes but if it gets us over the line gamble we'll worth it. I know people are say about the ffp we haven't spent much this season. Also have the money from osula so I can't see it been a issue for us.

Cheers for that and mean no offence when saying you’re terrible.

Just don’t know how your fans are patient when served with some of the shite I’ve watched you put out this season

I can't take offence at the truth mate! Patience is one word, apathy might be more accurate though. Or in some cases, now we've got yet another new gaffer, just delusion 😅

I don't see where the value is in the £13m, other than the hope he gets a few goals and you sneak promotion.

Is he going to get that much better in 2 years where clubs will offer more than £13m to sign him?

I'm torn between wanting another striking option or letting a rival toss £13m at someone who MIGHT make them better.

Incidentally there were rumours about Bournemouth being interested in Campbell
The only rumour I saw about that, was that TalkSport article that thought he was still at Stoke. So I'm inclined to believe there was nothing in that.

The point being, with all those players around Cannon we'd maybe just be looking for someone to disrupt defenders, stretch the play a bit and finish chances.
How many times this season have we seen a little through ball from Hamer or O'Hare and Kieffer Moore do like 3 steps then think - "fuck that, i'm not catching that"

That's where Cannon comes in

If he gets 20 goals this season, then 8-10 in the PL next, he's a £20m+ striker all of a sudden. Add a few more million for being English.

Look at Liam Delap (also previously of Stoke) - went to Ipswich for ~£15m. Worth £25-30m now

The footballing gods have just awoken from their afternoon nap........

Although City have a buy-back clause at £20m

As others have mentioned, £13 million for a young British striker in the Championship is probably the going rate, he Stansfield to Brum transfer will have changed the game significantly. The only way we'll be getting a striker in for less is if we shop abroad, which I'm not confident we have the scouting structure or knowledge to get someone who would slot straight in à la Latte Lathe or Piroe when we first joined Swansea.

I looked at some clips of him on YouTube and I think he has the attributes to develop into a decent striker.

He's physically strong.
Powerful shot with both feet.
Ok aerially.
Quick turn of pace.
Links with others.

Reminds me of a young Ched Evans.

Prob go to Sunland now.

That is what we desperately need. A player who can score lots of goals. Since Billy we have not had anyone you’d think could get 10-20 goals a season.

Thought Moore might be the answer but he doesn’t seem the right fit.

All that said I still think our tactics have created a strikers graveyard.

That's what I thought re Ched comparison.

Sensible really, Liverpool did the same with Brewster but unfortunately it expired before they could take up the option.....🤣🤣🤣
Sensible from City yes. But from an Ipswich point of view, you would have thought they'd want the buy-back to be more like £25m+

I think he’s a good player but wilder must be confident on this one if he wants owners to back him with this one

Looking at some reviews on his performances this season, IF he does come here, i wonder if we might go for two up top?

How that would work with potential incomings and current squad (if most back from injuries), i dont know.

I guess that problem is for the people getting paid a hell of a lot more than i do.

I know it's pedantic, but we had two guys that did score that many just two seasons ago when Billy was fizzling out:

McBurnie bagged all of them pre-Xmas too.
Then unavailability and form went.
Yeah the first half of that season he was proper on it.
Probably his longest run of games without injury too.

9 goals in the space of 13 games.
A goal every 171 minutes over the season. So if he was available all season he'd have been looking at 20+.

6 goals in 21 last season in a god awful side.

Looking at it now I think I'd actually rather have Oli back on loan until the end of the season 😂 and spend this money we're offering for Cannon in the summer or on other areas.

Precisely ….. if you boot the ball up the pitch granted with Moore it will stay up the there and give us a chance to advance but with Cannon this changes now if he signs. The longer this goes on the more i’m keen. Hes definitely got a finish on him and he could easily get 10 in the second half of the season in a better side.

Considering we dont concede or score to many those 10 goals could be worth 10-12 points.

Where is he, i’ll go and pick him up now?!? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I thought we had new owners and money ??

Now we can’t even afford some low level student to make our announcement videos, instead making players do it

No wonder all these previous videos took so long, obviously waiting for players to finish training then get back from putting kids to bed before we could get it done

Tinpot blades lol 😂

Don’t forget the season where he didn’t score a league goal.
