CONFIRMED Tom Cannon signs until 2029, with a year option

Watched him a few times for Stoke now and he’s been largely anonymous.

If they’re going to recall him and send him here on a loan to buy I’d be a bit disappointed. He might be fine this season, but if we go up I’d hope for better.
 

Dont think he will be good enough for us in the Championship never mind in the PL if we do get promoted hes had one good game for Stoke and hes scored a few penalties

For me it would be BBD all day long .

All round a far more talented player than Cannon , can play central or wide left and has an excellent track record for goals and assists including 22 in one season for Blackburn and even 6 in 14 for the awful side that was us in last year’s Prem .

Just doesn't seem to do anything in games, you never notice him or what he contributes. 6 goals this season, 2 of them are pens while the other 4 came against Portsmouth should say all that needs to be said

If Leicester need 5-6m desperately I would rather give them that for Souttar and then loan-to-buy whatever half-way decent striker we can get from Europe / Prem reserves. Signing Cannon but letting Harry go back at the end of the season would be awful business.

yes hes the obvious one and were probably more likely to get him on loan than cannon long shot i know but i would like to see both brought in ive finally given up on brewster he was awful against blackburn and i still think we need 2 strikers to come in

Can't see Southampton selling BBD, they will be throwing everything at the wall - Blackie-style - in an attempt to stay up
 
Don’t think their management see anything in BBD and I assume will be happy to get his wages off their o/head at the very least if he comes on loan or transfer fee as well. To enable them to re invest
 
Wonder if Leicester will recall him from Stoke in January and send him out on loan (or sell him if they can) to someone closer to the top of the table.

Hopefully if that is the case it will be us, not sure how long Brewster and Moore will be injured for but he'd fit I our team.

Who knows, maybe we could get him on loan with an obligation or option to buy if promoted.
 
How many people have seen that much of Cannon to establish that he will be of benefit to our team.
Yes we need at least one additional forward, but the guy is hardly prolific, there must be alternatives, BBD for one.

very negative on this thread regarding cannon but i think he would be a good signing for us i hope we get him if not bbd definete 2nd choice

I'd take BBD over Cannon, all day long.

BBD would give us an option on the left and cover at CF.
He's a proven source of a lot of goals at this level. Southampton got him for a steal, even if they don't think so right now.

Genuinely no idea why anybody would want Cannon, what the team is missing is a reliable goalscorer, which he isn't so would be a poor use of a loan and if we went up he'd be way out of his depth so a bad permanent too.

If we somehow managed to sign Brereton Diaz it shouldn't be an either or, we could still do with a striker as well, just not Cannon.

I've seen a lot of Cannon - GF and her family are Stoke season ticket holders, and we go to her dad's to watch televised games.

He's dross. He's scored 6 or 7 goals, and with the exception of the Portsmouth game, he's virtually non-existent in 90% of their games.

He doesn't seem to make the right runs, he drops too deep, he can hold the ball up sure but 9 times out of 10 his first touch is too heavy

There will be, if not 100% is, better options out there for a fraction of his price

Same opinion as me mate. Admittedly only seem in live at the lane, but didn't know he was playing till they took him off😊 other than that on tv, which more or less the same none existent, waste of money.

wasn't one of Moore's 2 whole goals a penalty. oh wait, no he missed that.

We have ZERO fit senior strikers, so he would have been a godsend.

He's a good young player. Not the finished article. Not the best in the league. But would have been a quality loan signing.

Campbell is fit? Consistent too.

Again, I've watched Cannon. He does nothing. He offers so little. His 7 have come in games against crap opposition

Explain to me what he offers that a) we need and don't have outside of fitness and b) who we shouldn't have got in order to get him

Reports were he'd virtually signed a loan deal in summer until we pulled the plug.

Again, tell me what he'd offer that we haven't already got outside of fitness.

Tell me anything he does in games that we can't do or don't have players currently doing
