Early days and stuff but let's all be honest he's not up to it, it's obvious, he's crap ... Brewster 2, he should be a sub for the remaining games or he's going to cost us
When we speed the ball up and move it faster with one touch passing and also the quick counter attacking we did at the start of the season. Then it looks like we have a style of play but we want to spend most of the time passing sideways at the back and go nowhere.

I am not sure Wilder fully understands this group isn't the same as that great team that got us promoted in 2019. He does actually have a lot of players in the squad with very good footballing ability that can play one touch quick football.
Have you noticed history has repeated itself?
We buy a player from a premier League team beginning with "L" whose been tearing it op with a load of goals for a Championship
team beginning with "S".
And the new one also played for a Liverpool team at one point.
If it goes as well as last time we did that he should come good in about 4 years if we give him time.

As someone above pointed out, we know a very similar player that most call a legend of this club. Tom Cannon is not shit, if this doesn't work out it is because we are playing the way a player like him clearly needs. That's on Wilder.

why why why arrr slating him already no one will be good enough for you ,he will score soon and proove you all wrong who dont want him or think hes not good why doubt him, i think tom cannon is a class act,he will score for fun hes just joined a new club with a different system JJEEEZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz same old bring people down z hes a great new long term sufc positive signing he will be great for the blades at least hes our player why come on here to bring him down that wont help score.arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, he will be a HIT and be a kop sufc legend youll see,,AAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR .get a grip,,aarrr, back him not get on his back, aarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,,,meltdown time ,,arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

What are these strengths?
Not quick, not skillful, not big so not good in the air, not a regular scorer. Everything about him so far says possible journeyman Championship striker and a bizarre signing for £10m.
He looks like a poacher. Good in and around the box. He needs to get the ball there.

He not crap, but we’ve spunked 10m on a player that doesn’t fit out style….. absolutely crazy…. When we all could see that we were crying out for a Soutter replacement…

I’ll give the lad time and support but I can’t understand the signing. The £10 million should have been spent on two centre half’s, one of them a brick shithouse like Souttar. Did we need another centre forward? I’m not too sure, Campbell coming back to fitness. I think a goal will give Cannon confidence, he doesn’t become crap overnight from what Ive seen when he was at Stoke he looked a good finisher.

Steadily improving with each game (maybe not as fast as we hoped) and learning how and when to make the runs in regards to the service he'll get from Hamer and O'Hare mainly.

He's had a hand in both our winning goals against Derby and Portsmouth so it's not like he's not contributing to the team.

Having watched the extended highlights back, he should have chipped the keeper as soon as he crossed the halfway line which is when their keeper started back pedalling towards his own goal, instead he took a touch and continued his run, at which point the keeper was too close to the goal to be chipped from that distance.

The actual shot wasn't too different to the one Brewster had at the end, only Brewster was a bit more central and probably hit it harder than necessary.

I didn't want us to sign him, especially not for £10m. I predicted he won't score more than 4 goals for us this season, and after 3 games I expect no more than 3 goals.

The general response to criticism is "he needs chances and we don't create chances so it's not Cannons fault". He had two chances yesterday - one where he dithered about with only a defender to beat and ended up smashing the ball high and wide, and another where he actually ducked under the ball when any sort of contact towards the goal and it was in. You can't forgive a striker that is scared of headers, and you definitely shouldn't be paying 8 figures for him.

This was against the second worst defence in the league (and the worst defence away from home).

I don't this he's a bad player we just don't play to his strengths. We created nothing today or even got the ball up to him. I know he need to get into positions ect get there but when we create nothing don't judge him yet. If he's missing chances left right and centre then yes I'd agree untill I see that I can't agree with that
Whose strengths do we play to🤔

He scored 4 against Portsmouth for Stoke. Looking at the highlights although right footed he seemed to make his best movement down the left as his second and fourth goals showed. He also played as the lone striker so he can do it if we have someone of the capability of COH to find him with his off the ball running. Problem is we haven't seen much of that to date. It may also be an idea to let him take a free kick outside the area. He needs time to gel with the other players in our preferred system of 4-2-3-1 for that reason Campbell has to start for the moment with COH behind him. Shoe horning him into a front 2 to accommodate new signings just isn't the best use of his ability.
