There's been loads of threads on the "homage" shirt with the wrong size stripes (they were butchers stripes not pin stripes) which was late ( would you celebrate your 50th birthday in your 52nd year - nonsensical crap covering up a marketing cock-up I suspect). I am resigned to it and cannot wait to be rid of it.

Hated it as home strip from the moment I saw it (most probably because its actually a lot closer to our sixties and seventies away shirt - white with red trim - than any home kit we have ever had). Some like it - I accept that, but many hate it.
I would hazard a guess that most Blades more readily identify with a football team playing in red and white stripes that are visible from the stands as opposed to those looking at the shirt because its an Adidas fashion accessory that "looks good with jeans and flipflops". From any distance it just doesn't look like United playing (just another white shirted nomark side). Could this be a contributory factor to the missing buzz at the Lane this season (all that supporting the shirt bit is made that little bit harder with that white number on display - and god knows its been hard enough at times this season). The celebration shirt should have been a unifying celebration of our club for the supporters. I don't think anyone could argue it has been successful in those terms judging by the wildly divergent reactions to it.
ps Why not go the whole hog and play in the blue shorts that went with that kit? Or even the plain white shirt we started with. And the socks should be black - as an homage to our roots.

Its bad I know but I can't wait for this season to be over so we can dump a load of the dross players whose contracts are up and that homage shirt with them.
