But seriously with my smugness out of the way I think in my post I was just trying to put things into perspective at that point being only 4 matches in, a lot more reasonable than some other posters. But saying that I totally understood why many others were more doom and gloom as it was the start of our 6th season in L1 and it still wasn't looking any better as our trajectory looked like we might had been seriously looking at relegation to L2!

That's the kind of argument politicians make (and one, no doubt, we'll be having when the next useless article is appointed as manager).

Look, it's not about 'give him time' or 'we're impatient'. With every passing game (including Oxford next week) it's becoming obvious that Wilder is out of his depth. McCabe didn't bring in the latest pile of dross that Wilder has. McCabe doesn't pick the tactics. McCabe doesn't ensure we have - at best - one shot on target per game. McCabe doesn't tell Clarke to 'nearly' score with every opportunity. McCabe hasn't told our top scorer last season to look completely disinterested. Wilder has already lost the dressing room and has spit the dummy out with refusing a post-match interview. The kind of pressure he's used to is 5k crowds and a hack from The Northampton Evening Examiner.

As galling as it is, once again we've picked a manager who is simply not up to the job. The longer we stick with Wilder, the more we'll fall behind 20th place. Have I got a solution? Have I fuck. Any more than those who state that 'we need a box-to-box midfielder' or 'we need a CB' but can't name anybody who is available, affordable or would be prepared to see his career wrecked by a move to this car-crash. What I do know is that already CW has lost the plot. He has been allowed to bring in a bunch of players who are talentless and no better than the crap Adkins left behind.

Southend was a grim evening all round and we looked hopeless. 4 games was a bit daft to go off like this but you only have to venture into general chat to see much dafter stuff every week

To be fair we were proper fucked over for the past several seasons of dross and when that jester Adkins left not many were too inspired by Wilders appointment, seemed low rent because he was a Blade like Micky Adams. So no surprise that there was some anger after our start to the season and a fair degree of impatience.
