Can wilder pull off another miracle?

Oh I don't know, relegation is easily a possibility this season if this transfer window continues in a similar vein until it shuts.

Some of our relegations (certainly not the most recent two though) have occurred where it wasn't something we thought about haven't they? Especially before the season started where there wasn't much anticipation of one.

If Bamford stays fit and in form we should have enough to finish between 13th - 18th… if however he is out for any length of time or loses form we will have problems scoring enough goals.. it could be touch and go,

It would be extremely stupid to think we can’t go down this season. Football’s a strange sport, where momentum and attitude plays a big part and before anyone kicks a ball anyone can go up or down from the championship.

I do worry for our squad 100%.
GK: Cooper, solid
RB: Seriki, Brill but I think he’ll leave
CB: Tanganga, solid
CB: 🤷🏻‍♂️
LB: McCallum/Burrows, decent
CM: Peck, ok but will leave I think!
CM: Jairo, Blaster, solid players. Rothwell 😔
RW: Donovan 🤷🏻‍♂️
CAM: O’Hare, solid
LW: Chong, got a lot to do. Bad last season but I think weirdly can do ok.
ST: Bamford, Campbell, Cannon. Can either be good or bad!

We been left behind as a club.

Slow, old players, zero pace, zero creativity with brooks and hamer gone.

Case in point is our recruitment - Spending the fee we paid for cannon off the back of a few penalties is not the way smart clubs operate - there’s no way Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth would be paying that fee. Their scouting networks goes beyond 3 leagues in England.

The likes of Coventry have solid well but recruited much better. They are now streets ahead of despite being homeless effectively for a period.

Where as we seem to have had the same list of targets since wilder got here in 2016.

I’ve Zero excitement for the new season. I can’t see us creating much at all.

Some blades really do come across as enjoying wallowing in negativity don't they?

This is the championship. Hull were under an embargo, just survived relegation and signed a freebie who we wanted under Wilder and would have got if we didn't sack him and he scored the winner in the play off final....

Anything can happen. A "miracle" will be an other top 2 finish.

On paper, this squad is better than we have seen it to be.

Wilder needs to get these players to perform to their potential.

As with every championship season, but with the extended playoff format even more so, we could finish anywhere between 5th and 15th.

Part of me hopes we don't sit too high up the table coming into December, past 2 seasons we seem to have completely lost momentum with the Jan transfer window due to overexcitement about promotion.

If we don't have money to spend, even if (when) Gus goes, my only request is a LM so the side has balance.

I think Baptiste looks half decent, let him start the season and he looks miles short, bring in a loan CB if needed.

If that squad works its socks off, plays together and finishes in the top half, I think we will have had a good season and the club financially will be better for it.

Another issue for me is how many of those players come the end of this coming season will be nearing the end of their contracts? (Entering the last 12 months)

I see more players wanting away and the club spiralling downwards

So we’re 2 players from been a solid/decent side, yet you think we can go down?🤷‍♂️

2 perms and 3 or 4 loans will come in.

That’ll put us around 6-15th

Not much movement or spending so far across the division from anyone, chill

I think the biggest issue is that with the players we have, we will be solid but the lack of speed to break from defence to midfield and midfield forward is going to stop us winning a lot of games.

This leads to a very concerning dynamic: if we are relatively slow, we will have to build our attacks going forward slowly and therefore if we get behind, especially early in the game, we will have no creativity or speed to change the game.

Again, we have some solid players but will that dynamic be enough for a successful season?

And what do we mean by a successful season?

As it stands, we are not a top 6 team. We will not be relegated so it would seem that we will be a mid-table team at best.

We stayed up comfortably last year and didn't get going until November and sacked it off towards the end. Would have to go catastrophic for us to go down. I don't rule it out, but I suspect we will be bang in the middle.

Without Board support Wilder is taking us full circle, back to where he started, League 1.

Even with Board support and from the players we have been linked with I'm not sure the result will be much different.

Bet365 have us at 20's to be relegated so even they aren't that sure...

Think Wilder did well in the press conference this morning.
Theres definitely more to expect from a number of players in terms of performance.
Having a full funtioning Arblaster is like new signing as is Baptiste .
Donovan is an exciting young talent and weve One to bring in to the 1st team squad .
If Gus and Peck go so be it , much depends on the replacements.

As Wilder said, it'll be a mad last few days of the window and we'll be part of it so will everyone else .
