I didn’t vote in the poll. I’m not sure how I feel, really.
I do think we have to sack him now, and give someone else the JTW to start a rebuild, or stick with Wilder and give him a shot at rebuilding the team and getting us back up. There’s no point sticking with him now only to fire him in March.
The issue for me is not relegation, which is acceptable as part of a longer-term plan to establish ourselves in the top flight. And it’s not the signings he’s made, because I think some of these younger players can still come good for us (although we’ve made some big mistakes in terms of recruitment, for sure).
The issue is the absolutely dreadful football we have played for most of 2020. It is so fucking boring to watch. My heart sinks at the idea of us keeping Wilder, him refusing to adapt, and us having to watch this rubbish week in and week out. Maybe he would go back to exciting front-foot football in the Championship.
