The Chesterfield keeper you were thinking about is Paul Gregory who played in our 3-1 defeat at Saltergate in December 1982. The keeper for Chesterfield in the 1980 match was probably John Turner

Don't let's get started on ex Chesterfield goalies. Which one used to live top half of Sharrow Lane?

I was at Hillsborough for the 1979 game (my only visit to that shithole, as I always point out when that game is mentioned).
Worst football match experience of my life! Turned up at 10.55 without a ticket and got one for their kop from ticket office. Why oh fuckin' why! :(

Yes Jim Brown. Used to drive past each week during lessons with The Jack Clare School of Motoring and he was always parked outside. Something like a Triumph Dolomite.

This is from Luton Town, Boxing Day 1991 at the time they had their away fans ban.

I don't know how many Blades got into the ground but there were quite a few jumping to their feet, scattered around the ground when Deano scored the only goal of the game. Give yourself 10 bonus points if you were one of them. :)

I remember we had to set off in thick fog at some ungodly hour cos of the 11.30 ko. I was going to write a piece in Flashing Blade at the end of the season about the press hospitality at all the away grounds - food, hot drinks etc - and give them all marks. I never got around to it but if I had, Luton would have been top of the table by a country mile! Maybe it was because it was xmas but there was hot chicken wings and drumsticks, soup, fish - it was a bloody feast. Even Vinnie Jones came in after the game to snaffle some grub. Much better than the soggy lettuce sarnies that you got at Old Trafford and Highbury.

Ps. Sorry Sitters, didn't mean to hijack the thread. Why isn't this in the General Blades section anyway?

A mate of mine and a big Blade was manager of the Yorkshire Bank in Luton at the time. He got loads of tickets for friends and friends of friends etc from his contacts in the town.
