Looking at recent results Preston and Scunny are down. Middlebrough will pull away as will Palace. However, Bristol City and Portsmouth are dropping off fast. Derby and Coventry are possibles. Based on our performances though since MA took over you would have to be brave to bet on us staying up.

And if you look what is happening in S6 you see what next season could hold for us because if we go down there will be a total clearout and we will bring in League 1/2 reserve players who earn 10 bob a week and get a packet of Woodbines as a win bonus. People moaned about the football under Blackwell. God help them next season.

Still, my lad has always wanted a trp to Dagenham and Redbridge. There's always a positive if you look for it.

Agreed, I think D and R can get out of trouble and stay up too.

We're doomed. Just as a promotion-bound side can play shit and still win, a relegation-bound side can play well and still lose - as we have done on many occasions this season. The footballing gods have it in for us this year. Bye bye Championship.

Come on dkc - look for that one positive. You'll go to bed much happier.

Whilst wanting to be positive, sometimes you can almost smell relegation, and unfortunatly its starting to smell a bit at the Lane. We outplayed Leicester tonight and lost. Its not fair but I am afraid the footballing gods and inept referees will conspire against us.

I agree that we seem to get more than our fair share of bad refereeing decisions against us, but even so we are toothless in attack. Evans has (had?) picked up but Cresswell and Boggy are hopeless. Yeates and Ward are one match good 6 matches poor. Why not give Slew a chance. He really can't be any worse than our current 'strikers'.

Come on you lot don't give up yet! Yes it's starting to feel that 'Were doomed' but lets not give up yet. We had one off the line, one hit the bar and their keeper pulled off some world class saves from Monty & Boggy. Some tough games coming up and this could be the make or break of our season. See you all at Ipswich.

p.s. On a side note did anyone catch what the shouting was all about between the 2 sets of blokes at the back of Gangway C on the Kop was all about?

It seemed as though one lot were claiming Malaysia was best for scuba diving and the other lot were arguing it was Malta.

I've not given up. In some ways though, it would be easier if we were playing poorly. Then you could hang some hope on improvement. But playing pretty well and losing continually is hard to take an makes you wonder where a win will come from.

Listened to BBC Leicester for 2nd half. They were crapping themselves, very uncomplimentary about our style of play and the state of the pitch. Said we should have had 2 pens, especially the Jappo handball. Best game Weale has played for them and also stated that's it's about time they got some luck.
Summariser for them was Alan Young (not sure if that's the one who played a few games for The Blades in the 80s)

Stats suggest we mullered them. They were chuffed to "win ugly"

Totally agree, the last two games we have played well and deserved something from them, absolutely gutted tonight that we haven't got a point at least from that. Oh well ipswich away, first time down there for me so should be a good laugh and hopefully a Blades win.

A day in Ipswich is a long way from being a good laugh.

I'm taking consolation from our life in the top division under Bassett where although we were stuck at the bottom of the table, I kept coming back from games feeling we hadn't got what we deserved. Eventually results started to go away and we got out of danger. Funnily enough for most of the season we were relegated, I felt that we often got more than we deserved. If we can get in some quality and pace on loan then I still believe we'll stop up.

Why will Palace pull away? They have a poor squad and an inexperienced manager. I agree with the rest. I personally see it as between us, Palace and Bristol City. 3 awful teams all lacking confidence and down on luck. It will just be a case of who is worse.

The signs of playing well and losing strikes me of relegation form (as the converse is promotion form). I just hope that these good performances will be accompanied with a bit of luck, we can go on a run and we can pull away from danger.

Boro appear to be pulling away and they've definitely not been playing well. It seems to be a confidence thing, we probably just need to scrape a win somewhere (Ipswich would be nice!) and then follow it up with a deserved win.

palace will pull away.. they have a palace legend in charge who has uplifted the spirits and confidence of the club and they are now gaining momentum.. the toll of constant body blows against the fans at united (bartley being the latest example) means the fans and team don't get a chance to rally.. that is why there is no confidence at the club

I would have thought that they would be feeling better than chuffed.

We are a poor team but at least we are now having a go. Leicester were simply shit.

Sadly when you can't beat a team as poor as them then you really are hoping that there are three teams worse than you.
