This was fantastic by both fans

Three of my biggest memries as a 9/10 year old, Mel walking round the pitch, getting there at daft o clock, parking in a random car park and getting approached by a rough looking bloke who gave us a box of red and white balloons whilst looking like he was going to stab us, and getting randomly hugged and thrown around by an old bloke as Corky scored.

My best friend worked at the post office at the time, so we went down on their coach.
It was.knackered to say the least, windscreen wipers stopped working going down the M1.
Was a coach of blades and owls having a good old crack.
When Mel walked out onto the pitch the support from both sets of fans was superb.
When Wads put the ball down and smacked it I said to my mate top corner.
When Corky scored it was delerium.
But alas as always with us Blades never a happy ending at Wembley over the last 30 years.
On the way back out of London some cockney scroat started chucking stuff at the coach windows and banging on the door to try to get in, while we were stuck in traffic, at that point two lads(men) on the coach one blade and his mate and owl got of the coach.
Everyone else thought they were going to batter him, but no they calmly talked to him until he decided it was better to walk away.
Didn't get back to Sheffield till midnight.
My most cherished memory of Mel Rees was his debut at the Lane, can't remember who it was against now but what a superb goalkeeping performance it was.
World class.

I remember being in the shaky at Hillsborough full of wednesday fans singing about Mel Rees dying
Was one of the most disgusting things I've ever experienced and the first time I was introduced to the inner thoughts of our neighbours and sadly it's been a regular occurrence ever since
From accusing innocent young men of padophillia to casual racism and mocking dead children etc etc

Link not worked. It was about Mel Rees and Wembley semi
Repost it.

My brother and I went on one of the Blades fans coaches from Bramall Lane. There was horrendous traffic on M1 and coach driver went via A42/M42/M40 and missed it all out and we got there in record time. Watching movies on the coach. Then watching Mel Rees going round the pitch. Good times. Pity about the result.

Diode blade, im sure it was against liverpool, watched the warm up and he looked terrible and i thought hes crap, shows how much i know, what a great keeper for us and what a tragic ending. Rip mel

Englands Englands number 2 chant quickly changed 😁

Its not all of us frank and I don't condone some of our fans behaviour at times,

I know you were just trying to highlight a positive and it wasn't my intention to denegrate that but it is my over riding memory of mel now ( a player loved watching for the blades )
I.was actually dragged away by my mates from going round angrily asking people why they thought it was funny to sing that

People singing about People dieing of whatever disease or passed away well before their time is a big no from me. They should just stfu because 1 day they might get what killed someone or their parents or their own children do....not so funny then is it.
