The unemployed and unemployable

I have not blamed the fans. I am asking you and others who have been so scathing on here to explain why each and every one of those released players are insults to the professional game, wage thieves, lazy c***s, heartless b******s, etc. etc. Then extend it to the 7 transfer listed players too if you wish.

So what you are saying then, is that if these players had all rocked up at Leicester City, under the guidance of Ranieri, they would have won the League? Instead, because they were at Bramall Lane, under the prick Adkins, they contributed to the lowest league finish since the year I was born?

Read it again and "scale it down a couple of leagues".

Read it again and "scale it down a couple of leagues".

Perhaps we were also missing some black players as well? That was another of your crackpot theories as I recall. You remind me of the retired Physics professor in the Big Bang Theory who sits naked in his office.

So it is the fault of our own long suffering supporters than Connor Sammon is shit, that Flo Cuvelier is a perma-crock, that Jose Baxter has failed 2 drug tests, is it our fault that Dean Hammond couldn't cut in League One, is it our fault that Couttsy 18 months after signing hasn't even got the basic fitness to play 60 minutes of football????

No but the human beings themselves are not thieving criminals. They are men trying to make a living and now in danger of being unemployed.

You obviously mis-read that post too then.

I get made redundant on Tuesday, along with another 500 Sheffielder's, when a large printing firm at Tinsley closes its gates for the last time. It warms the cockles of my heart to know that blokes earning £200k a year who might have to go and do an 'ordinary' job have all your sympathy.

Maybe unemployed , but if put more effort in , perhaps still in a job . Have you any idea what it is like to be unemployed , not when you have been on £5k a week , but minimum wage . Answer - no.

I have no sympathy at all for this set of players .

Woody - stop a debate which is not necessary with protecting a set of players who have been failures , or they wouldn't have had there contracts cancelled.

Will they be living off benefits - no.

Players need to grow up , and stop taking the piss of hard working supporters.

......and to a young man, can probably not work again and still live a reasonable life, despite failing to cut it in the middle of England's third division.

There might be some undeserved hyperbole here, but really, why give a fuck?

Despite lack of talent, effort, or discipline, they've done extremely well out of their time with us, whilst we've witnessed and supported the lowest ebb in the club's history.

I'm sure some harsh words on a message board won't disrupt their extremely privileged lives.

Maybe Blades can PM you if they have job opportunities?

To clear this up. I saw 30 odd games last season, and with the exception of 3 or 4 games i didn't like what i saw from a lot of players.

I saw too many players frightened to go in to a 50/50 challenge, i saw too many players frightened to put their head in where it hurts, i saw too many players beaten for spirit by less gifted opponents, i saw too many players refusing to chase balls down, i saw too many players not being willing to run in to space off the ball, i saw too many players refuse to accept liability for their mistakes, i saw too many players looking disinterested, i saw too many players, i saw too many players looking like they wished they was elsewhere.

I'm probably not the most tactically astute on here, neither am i Sports Psychologist, I'm just a long standing fan who has watched enough and knows just about enough to know a footballer when i see one, did you ever see Cuvelier, Couttsy, Hammond or any one of the released or transfer listed virtually crawling off the pitch after they had put a proper shift in last season? I can remember the days when we did have less talented players who dragged every last bit out of their bodies and used to come off the pitch exhausted.

I didn't spend all of last season slagging off the players and Nigel Adkins, i did moan a lot about McCabe, but i laid off the players and the manager most of the season, hopeful that something would click and they would show the fight and spirit to barge in to the play offs kicking and screaming.

I saw them at Millwall, was part of 1,200 who gave them a loud and vocal backing, we played shit that day but i didn't hear anyone get on the back of the players and do you know how many could be arsed to come over and applaud the away fans after making a long, shite trip on a dank day to South London, do you know how many could be bothered to show their appreciation. ONE, one single, solitary player had the balls to stand up and come and acknowledge the away fans.

Then came the last day, we wasn't in the play offs, but we still had 18,000 fans who could be arsed to turn up to Bramall Lane and give the players some support, and how did they respond. Most of them looked more interested in getting off the pitch and fucking off to Marbella, fucking off to Dubai, fucking off to Ayia Napa, or whatever holiday hot spot that they had booked with the wages they had earned, sorry i retract the word earned, but the money they had given for just going through the motions, If they had the heart and spirit to finish the season by just actually winning a game to give the fans something back then it wouldn't have ended like this, there wouldn't have been the bitterness, the acrimony and the mutual apathy. There was even a couple of players who ran a couple of yards away from the technical area just before they got subbed.

That is why they are " insults to the professional game, wage thieves, lazy c***s, heartless b******s, lack pride, gutless, unprofessional etc. etc" they couldn't even have the decency to show a bit of fight, spirit, heart and respect. We are well shot of the lot of them

brownie , summed up well . The benchmark was set at Gillingham.

Players who gave nothing that day are still at the club , and still remember , harp on about the post match interview when Basham said they weren't up for it , just not ready , couldn't get going .

Not all the wasters have been moved on , some have been given a second chance . Redemption , we wait with baited breath.

In all fairness that has been brewing for a while. There have been a few people who have been getting on their high horses saying the slating of the players is nasty, and unnecessary, but i've really felt it necessary to describe exactly why i feel as strongly as i do.

Its not as if i'm some Johnny Come Lately, I've been a dedicated Blade for 34 out of the last 38 years, and have attended the vast majority of games during that time.

I can see exactly where the OP is coming from, i have spent the best part of 20 years sat next to him up and down the country and at the Lane and know exactly where he is coming, we see the same things, sometimes our opinions differ, but what we saw this season was shocking, and the blame can be apportioned in multiple directions, but the players deserve a vast swathe of the scathing critique.

I can accept the odd poor performance because i have seen enough of them, i can accept that sometimes circumstances dictate that we may go through troubled time, and transitional periods, but what i can not, and refuse to ever accept is players not giving their all, and players who are seemingly going through the motions.

Right, I've finished debating with the adults for 5 minutes
Brilliant. Writing as much as you can doesn't justify your silly little point you know.

Your change from "oxygen stealers" and "parasites" didn't go unnoticed either.

I'll presume you've realised how daft that was.

I get made redundant on Tuesday, along with another 500 Sheffielder's, when a large printing firm at Tinsley closes its gates for the last time. It warms the cockles of my heart to know that blokes earning £200k a year who might have to go and do an 'ordinary' job have all your sympathy.

No, wrong again, they do not have my sympathy.

I just do not think they areall those nasty words and descriptions which were used on here by our fellow supporters who, like it or not, represent this forum and the clubs supporters.

Then why expend so much effort worrying about a group of players who have delivered the worst league finish since 1983?

S24SU..

Is there a "U" section on here?

Nasty words and descriptions are part and parcel of following football.
This is an extension of the match day experience.

Maybe we should have a selection of descriptive words that don't sound too nasty?

"This site has a number of onanists.... "

As I see things, it's not about them, it's about us.

I'm not one to put these blokes on a pedistal when they get us promoted.

I'm not one to laud Chris Wilder here and now just because he's put his name to a clear-out and said a few carefully chosen words, maybe not even fully chosen by him. Don't get me wrong, I was writing on here about Wilder being the man a couple of months ago, but don't expect me to judge him after 2 weeks, not for at least a year in fact. I well remember all those carefully chosen words by Adkins just under a year ago. Judge a manager after a year my signature has said on here for years.

On the other hand I would never, ever be so obscene as to describe one of our players in the terms used on here, just because we didn't get what we wanted, promotion, just like 23 other teams didn't achieve last season. Sorry, that is immature and lacks any sort of class.

Fine line between worrying, and rejecting the daft, silly, over the top assertion that a bunch of players simply not technically good enough for a league one promotion outfit, are cunts, oxygen stealers and parasites.

Then why expend so much effort worrying about a group of players who have delivered the worst league finish since 1983?

Simple as that then.

It's not them I'm worried about, it's you because you and those fans like you are still here.

You're a condescending chap, aren't you? Spouting your holier than thou diatribe to nobody in particular and thinking that this somehow puts you on a higher moral plateau than everybody else because others dare to criticise failure.
