They spent all summer trying to put a positive spin on our fucking appalling transfer window/strategy.

Now they're putting the boot into Hecky with incredible zeal.

Seemingly, the access they have to PA and whatever benefits that brings them, is of more importance to them than the best interests of the club.

Managers doing an awful job with the actual players he’s got. Prince is a joke and sucking the life out of the club.

But let’s not pretend we’ve got a manager even getting the basics right this season. It’s been a shambles and an embarassment from top to bottom.

Paul Mitchell, the head of recruitment who’s played a part in bringing the likes of Souza, Brewster, Max Lowe, Larouchi and Luke Thomas to the club, he can fuck off n all

Wasn't the Summer transfer policy that's done for us, it's the complete lack of any kind of modern day/2023 physical conditioning programme through the off season and into the season that's done for us.

Another game where we looked like we had a full roast dinner with all the trimmings at half time... In fact looks like we had a curreh with rice, naan and poppadoms before kick off too!!

It's not the manager, it's not the transfer policy, it was the bridge at Arnhem.

They are masters at controlling the narrative. Nobody credible would put the lion's share of the blame at Hecky's door. The transfer numbers are there for anybody to scrutinise. Not just this season by the way. That's not to say he couldn't manage a losing hand better.

This is it for me. Things like fitness, attitude, and organisation are things even crap players can have (eg Bassett’s sides) and in a tight fight they can make the difference. We aren’t even doing that and that is down to management, not ownership.

Also tactics and style are controlled by the manager.

Last season I watched Notts County play away at Wrexham on Sky, County were a possession based pass and move team where as Wrexham were very direct, almost long ball.

Notts County were non league with inferior players to us, so how come their midfield play composed pass and move football,

We have a non existent midfield, it’s like Vini Souza and Norwood met each other for the 1st time yesterday, there’s zero interplay. So what are they practicing in training?

Our style of play is pass it Norwood and he’ll boot it long for Archer to chase or high for 5ft 8 Archer to head. 90% of the time these long punts are mopped up by the opposition defenders so we keep losing possession.

Also when ever we take a kick off from the centre spot why does Norwood always boot it upfield straight to their defender? Surely we should be keeping possession?

Exactly.

Even Wilder had both owners wrestling over who owns the club with next to no money being put in but still managed to get performances from players and them doing the basics.

Look at what Bassett achieved with Brealey and Woolhouse: one who didn’t want the club and the other who couldn’t afford it.

Wouldnt disagree and throwing money at Sousa, Troare, Slimane rather than lumping it all on buying Doyle looks worse as each week passes.

However, our lack of physical preparation for this season is like turning up to a posh black tie ball in shorts and flip flops. Yes they've let us in, but he rest of the party are pissing them selves. Actually it's like turning up to your nans funeral in fancy dress. People find it funny but are laughing at us not with us... That is all on Hecky and his team. He can't blame anyone else for how slow we start then how leggy we look after 60 mins....

Both ownership and manager need a change. Unless we luck on another Ndiaye or Wilderball we aren’t bouncing back from this with either still in control / post.

I think that's harsh on Paul Mitchell. You describe him as 'head of recruitment' but he is effectively a one-man band. Our 'strategy' is supposedly to unearth up and coming talents, get 'em cheap and then sell them on at a premium. For that strategy to work, we need at least to investment in the recruitment team and scouting network. That's on the owner.

still mostly down to injuries as the introduction of mc burnie showed, suddenly had a purpose
both he and Anel were only fit for cameos but it shows how short weve been at the back and up front

heckys made a terrible decision to play 1 up front v bournemouth, and we had no height for the forward balls

was an awful first half and even here in Spain watching tv I booed them off

theres no balance in the team , no scope for alternatives, it has to change for the better

Absolutely nailed it.

Mostly agree with that. For us laymen it can be easy to strike out at the more well known backroom names like Bettis and Mitchell. Whereas the underlying thread of the vast majority of our problems is a lack of investment. That bit I’m afraid is very much on the Prince.

Really? We were actually poor last season but had better players than 95% of the league which saw us through. It certainly wasnt Heckys tactics that did it. Even average championship teams quickly realised that we won't close them down, but if they close us down we shit ourselves, hit it to the channels and hope Ndiaye does something with it. All it takes is 3 or 4 quick direct passes and they would be through on goal. Burnley away and Middlesbrough at home were games where we looked completely outclassed. Now we're playing against much much better teams and getting deservedly smashed because our tactics are awful and haven't changed.

Come on, we all know the difference between a poor team and a disorganised team…I would suggest most of our players know the rudiments of how to play the game of football. Alas for some bizarre reason, we as a team have elected to play absolutely no football whatsoever. It seems the basic principles of the game (tackling, passing, shooting etc) have been sadly thrown in the bin.

Darren Smith is essentially the Prince's glove puppet, so is the above actually the Prince's quote?

Heckingbottom reverted back to 3-5-2 or 3-5-1-1 - it's axiomatic that it was his tactics that saw the upturn in form post Slav that resulted in promotion. It was he that developed Ndiaye into the cheat code he became, nobody else. Burnley away was decided by a Wes brain fart, we were on top until that point in proceedings. We absolutely battered them at home. We had a hat full of chances vs Middlesborough we squandered. You take two of the three best players out of any newly promoted team and you're going to significantly weaken them. It's largely revisionism and scapegoating re Hecky. You give anybody the same hand and we'd probably be in the Championship now.

Did Slav not revert back to it for the two games prior to sacking? I thought he did, we had a draw and a win from the two games and then he was sacked. Agreed Hecky carried it on though.

Based on his previous work, it's a good question. Is this the way the club checks the mood of the fan base.

Everyone I know, thinks it's time for a change. I was probably the last taxi off the rank, after the Fulham game.

Nail on the head.
