It's starting to strike again.

Clearly Coutts was an important cog in the machine but the longer he's out the better player he's becoming.

The only player I have seen who was better than an injured Steve Kabba was John Ebbrell

I trump you all with Andy Campbell, one of fastest players I've ever seen in a United shirt but couldn't control or shoot or dribble to save his life.

Common theme for players with pace is that they usually have to be quick to get to their first touch, the ones who actually have a first touch are playing in the Premier League

They say he never gave the ball away but I recall he gave the ball away rather a fair bit.

That said I still like Coutts but he was prone to the odd error himself which the likes of Lundstrum gets pelted for. Obviously if you go on and win a match then those errors are meaningless.

Lundstram did better last game. He needs to learn to make the right decisions, it will come with game time. People wrote off Basham, Coutts and numerous others. Wilder and Knill can sort him out.

I thought Kabba syndrome was when a player you've never heard of is MOM at Bramall Lane for the opposition and everyone says 'Why don't we sign him?' (Kabba for Grimsby got an ovation from all sides of the ground when subbed near the end - he seemed to be everywhere playing in a poor side), but then is not nearly as good when we do sign him. A reverse Kabba would be Booker or Jake Wright.

End of thread.

I guess if a guy of my weight fell off a cliff I'd be pretty rapid.

Falling off a cliff?
Looking for a safe landing?
Then you need one of these.
Let the frame take the strain and order direct from Crab Industries today...

Ah the old ACME cow off a cliff catcher, or is it for the cow to propel herself over the barbed wire ?

Was the original Crab Industries model not designed for catching Crabs ?

He was good when we signed him but after his injury he was never the same, he didn't even look physically the same person with those spindly legs.
As each week went by with him out injured the higher his reputation soared.

I remember a pang of excitement years ago when we were losing at home to Liverpool (I think) and Jostein Flo came on as sub after an injury lay off...... I learnt not to build by hopes ever again after that

Yeah, it's starting to be really difficult to see what exactly Coutts brought to the side...

Top PL clubs would miss the influence, composure and class of Paul Coutts.

It was inevitable we would suffer.

Couldn't agree more. Indeed, the team's big weakness this season and last has been a lack of cover for either Coutts or Fleck, and now it is being exposed. Which makes the opening post frankly baffling to me.

yeah they scaled it up.. but all enginners know engineering is not linear:)
