Interesting that one of the so-called achievements of the JTW was not selling any "key" players. Celebrating our success in this laudable aim was, however, put on hold in our household when we learned that this was because nobody bid for any of them.

Isn't that what JP does, he identifies the positive of retaining our so called "better players" but fails to mention we didn't actually receive any bids for them. We made offers for "X" number of players, but in reality there wasn't a cat in hells chance of the other clubs accepting our bids. Technically the statements are true, its how you choose to interpret them.

When jim phipps says gaffer it comes accross as your dad using ghetto slang in front of your mates when you were at school

I makes it much more amusing if you imagine that he is eating a particularly sticky toffee whilst attempting to say the word Jaffa

It is not that there aren't players about - it is getting their parent clubs to release them.

You and others just think we turn up, offer a wedge and sign a player.

Not so.

There are plenty of quality players - Champ players on lost of dosh - and we are at present overloaded with that type of player we cannot easily get rid of.
There are quality players in L1 - Bradley Dack - Gills turned down £2m from Bristol.
Walsall have hung onto 3 of their best players.

If no one is interested in selling - even with a large wedge of cash (which we do not have) what do you expect Adkins goes and gets - 5 more average players? Come on.............there is zero realism on this site at present.

Hold on a minute ....... it just cannot be right can it ?

We all know that if somebody comes in and makes an offer for one of your players you cannot turn it down !! You cannot stand in their way !! Its the rules of football isn't it .... you have to sell.

It must be so because we've been told that many times by our Board ....... o_O
