The ref was not great but the better team on the night won

I thought the ref made it so we were scared to challenge for the ball, i know we need to adjust to the way some players go down, and sometimes like last night they go down cause nothings happened, maybe its the continental player who needs protection as opposed to the gritty sheffield lad who's rough n ready and doesnt need a free kick, i think the ref had a spurs fantasy cause fulham played in all white and he was daydreaming of a premer league status, but take nothing away from fulham, we got them back in the game and they finished all their chances well even if a couple were gifts, they were the best ive seen here in the first half for a couple of seasons and theyll be in the mix at the end of the season with strikers and pace like that..

Dissapointed that fans started leaving on 80 mins even though we could all see wilder was throwing the kitchen sink at them, that was my only real gripe tonight except the ref, who was crap..

Oh and another thing... remember how we've always said we'd take losing 4-3 "etc" so long as we see the effort... time to make good on this from our side of things, they've given 100% for 90 mins on the pitch, Nine goal thriller, two hatricks in sucession at home 11 goals in 3 games and some fans are going home early... I do wonder about some people..

The view is brilliant, can’t fault it, I was surrounded by statues. I shouted at the ball boy to get a move on at one point, felt embarrassed for doing so, turned around to alleviate my feelings of guilt, to be met with disinterested, unengaged, indifferent zombies. The highs and lows of the match had little apparent impact on my immediate neighbours.

My granddaughter wants to return to the kop, I agree with her
I agree. It's total disinterest from robots up there.

I said to my mate they we’re time wasting from their first throw in. As for the ref making players take a throw from the right spot, every time it was about two steps difference, as for his performance 3/10 complete pillock.

May I amend that to "the team that made less incredible fuck-ups on the night won", please? .......

Our defending was as bad as I've seen from one of Tufty's sides since he arrived. I'm guessing that the paint was peeling off the dressing room walls during his post-match "discussion" !! o_O:(

UTB & FTP

No one is blaming them, Fulham deserved the win but I’d just like them to do the job they are paid to do, handsomely, to the best of their ability and they’re not.
I thought a draw would have been a fair result overall. I think Fulham moved the ball really well and they had really good pace in their side, something we didn't do as well as them. But two of their goals came from our own mistakes, one of those was avoidable (the back-pass from CCV). These things happen. CCV has been great for us up to now and was my MOTM at Burton. I wouldn't criticise the lad for that and he'll learn from it. At the end of the day though, only a miraculous goal-line clearance from Big Jim's header prevented it from being a 5-5 draw. Great entertainment and although I was disappointed with the result I felt I had my money's worth last night. Yes the referee was inconsistent, but we can't blame him or anyone really for that result.

We can’t blame the ref and we won’t, we lost to a slightly better team on the night but a referee can certainly disrupt and influence a game of football and he did that last night, there were some good players on show but you always end up talking about the refs.

Only football out of all the sports available do you end up discussing the officials, it’s about time they did something about it, most of them couldn’t ref a mud wrestling fight between the little mix, they’d call offside or a foul every time a tit popped out.

Billy was very lucky the ref didn't send him off when he shoved his head into the Fulham players face. If that player had gone down like a sack of spuds, like they do these days, then Billy would have had no complaints. It was right in front of me and that Fulham player was hard done by getting a yellow. Yeah, the ref was crap but he cost us nowt last night.

the time wasting was my main gripe and why referees dont get on top of this from the off !
he constantly did his arm waving motion to get them to get a move on but never booked anyone ,
their players going down for nothing and then the trainer being on was happening too much ,.... one time the guy went down holding his leg, trainer came on , he had a drink then he got up !! magic leg juice !?!

book one of them early and that should hopefully get a foot hold on it ,
also after all goals they scored , all of their players except GK went to celebrate onto ourside of the pitch and then causally strolled back, seemed a dogs age our lads were waiting to kick off again whilst they were strolling round our beautiful desso !

Thought Hanson battled well and had a couple of good shouts for a penalty too.... difficult to know what to make of last night, but great team spirit, and we'll bounce back on Saturday

Whenever we picked up momentum,a Fulham player would go down injured or delay taking a throw in.
It was very obvious and worked well for Fulham.
The officials allowed Fulham to get away with it all game long.
Which was a good breather for the ref as he didn't like the game to flow, he preferred to stand around and lecture players with his boundless knowledge of so called fouls killing off the clock.

For a long time I've felt that the time keeping should be made public.

90 mins counting down on a score board. Whenever the ball is not in play, it stops. When the ball enters play again. It starts.

No argument about Fergie time n all that.

Survival of the fittest then - literally :)

Yes. That's what's supposed to happen though, isn't it?

All the messing about, drawing bloody lines on the pitch with shaving foam (then not enforcing it anyway), lecturing players, waiting ages for throw ins and goal kicks, all the incidental shit that goes on in a game adds up.

My gut feeling is it adds up to more than the usual 1 - 7 mins added on whilst the ball is not in play.

Perhaps I should conduct an experiment with a stop watch at the next match.

The ref was always going to be more inclined to give decisions against us once the 'you're not fit to referee ' chants rang out. I know it shouldn't work like that, but I bet it does.

At the risk of defending the ref and getting stoned to death by you lot, he did add 7 minutes of added time which compensated for their time wasting...

The rest of his body of work was poor. Again, I'll be a dissenting voice and say he was poor for both sides. Billy was lucky to escape a red card, Leon's 3rd looked off side and he added 7 minutes when the home team were chasing the game. Fulham have every right to be pissed with him as well.

The man I fully blame for our loss was their manager who outcoached Wilder on the night and penetrated the space behind our wing backs again and again all night. Clever wanker!

Unfortunately with us doing well, some of the Kop riff-raff have infiltrated over to the BLUT since last season - hopefully it's a one-season wonder and they can all slunk back to the land of crushed knees with the aromas of cannabis.

Guilty as charged, i’m quite rough riff raff

Foolham were hardly from the Norwich school of time wasting

Don't let his assistants off tonight either.

I can forgive being shit, we come to expect that, it's the total lack of consistency with it that's very irritating.

Until there is any kind of proper consequence, it will be forever this way.

Absolutely not to blame for the result, but they were poor.

The fourth official actually awarded us a free kick that the ref wasn’t going to. I felt bad for him having to babysit Jokanovic for the entire game.

Would be interesting - I think you'll be surprised at how little actual game time is played

Yeah. I shouted to Billy to not be so stupid. Didn’t acknowledge me though so probably didn’t hear

One the many annoying habit he had was turning his back on play as the play run through to keeper. Missing many pushes and shoves on Billy and Leon as they tried to chase down the keeper. I ( yes I may have only been a Sunday League but we do ref to same standard in a cack handed ,manner) was always told to run backwards whenever the ball was still in play and never turn your back when there is a potential clash.

It's a difficult one. What if the opposition waste time from the off, the ref. adds time on to compensate and the time-wasters go on to score the winner in time added on? Then you get the average fan who simply doesn't understand why/how time is added on. In many games, you see all six subs used, the board goes up with - say - five minutes on it and you hear muppets saying 'Where's that come from? The trainer hasn't been on once!'

The cheats will always be one step ahead of the officials. A couple of years ago, they were going to have a clampdown on 'wrestling' at corners and it's been quietly dropped. Surely it would be quicker to give red cards to the likes of Carroll, Huth, Shawcross etc. as they take to the field? Saves time later.

The latest ill-conceived brainwave is retrospecive suspensions for 'simulation'. Everton's Oumar Niasse probably being the first (and last) to be punished this way. Can you imagine a Jose Mourinho player being treated like that? Me neither.

Ironically, that chant went up when he'd just made a good decision, playing a decent advantage if I recall.
