Big big huge big day in World Football. Bayer 04 Leverkusen v Ferencvárosi TC (nominally) in the Europa League tonight. That's a chance for the Unofficial Football World Championship to pass out of Hungary (Ferencvárosi TC are the holders) to Germany.

A reminder, SUFC are 8th ranked in the World at the moment.

I have to say today's Pinch article by Sam Parry summing up the promotion is absolutely fantastic. Couldn't have said or written it any better.

For me this paragraph just says it all:
"But this team also has more mistakes in it. I think I love them because of their flaws. Unable to cart off players and find replacements, Heckingbottom has got a tune out of certain individuals who I would never have expected to still be at the club, let alone helping us to promotion and an FA Cup Semi-Final: success, despite our flaws. For this reason, I never understand the grump-ridden, sclerotic team-bashing of some."
