Apparently we're down to the last 3 candidates, a pig, a monkey and a robin.:(

References?

David Hurst, Chris Waddle & BarnsleyOwl from Pork Talk recon that Wilson is a rate good manager....

Chris Coleman was on talksport this morning and when asked if he was going to get back into management he said "wait and see in a week or two something will be happening"

apart from maybe robins, or did I already say that?

Robins is the best of those 3 for me and I would have him in a heartbeat over Wilson. that ok for you?

I'd say Robins from those 3, not a particularly great set of choices though...Dissapointment looms either way for me I think unless there is one hell of a trump card up a sleeve at BDTBL. We'll have to get behind whoever it ends up being anyway as we need all the help we can to get back out of league 1. UTB!!

Out of Robins, Wilson and Reid I would definately go for Robins but I'm not going to be massively excited by any of them. I would be much happier to see Pembo or Hill get it but I sense that they're outsiders (i.e. dark horses for it) at this stage.

Judging from the on-going speculation, I suspect a decision will be made today and an announcement will be made tomorrow. Just a gut feeling.

I like the last line that was put in for the sake "Ched Evans has been linked with a £1 million move to Leicester City."

If they're really making a choice between those three, I don't see how the Board can choose anyone other than Reid.
His managerial CV is far, far more impressive than either Wilson or Robins.
Wilson:- Two promotions, recent experience of League One. 39% career win percentage.
Robins:- No promotions, no play-offs, no recent experience of League One. 38% career wins.
Reid:- 5th in the Premier League twice, 7th in the Premier League twice, 2 Championship Titles, recent experience of League One. 42% career wins.

He's never managed or played for Wednesday, so would be a less controversial choice on that front as well.
If that really is the shortlist, he's the safest and best bet IMHO.

He'll be the new Barnsley Boss then!

Has anybody else seen the paper gossip from this morning linking Hugo Sanchez with the Barnsley job?

Out of the three mentioned United choices I'd probably opt for Reid based on his success at Sunderland and no local ties. I've no idea what his playing style is like though, or his policy on youth talent. So it's more of a gut feeling choice.

put your money on whoever is the cheapest. i'd be surprised if reid came tbh.. he is a big mate of robson's.. danny wilson is a brave man if he comes here.. shoes will be off after the first misplaced pass.. they 'want references'.. what a load of bollocks.. can't maccabe read a league table?.. they will take all this time and still fuck it up.. we'll need another manager after ten games.. makes you wonder how maccabe ever got so rich in the first place.. useless.

His Sunderland side always played with very much an 'up and at em' style to be honest. They weren't particularly stylish or artistic but they mixed it up (short and long passing) and had some very effective players as we will all remember in the likes of Phillips, Quinn and Ball etc.

In terms of working within the ethos KM talked about and working with Pemberton I cant see how it would quite work. The style of football I know Reid for was fairly entertaining but definately different from what Pembo preaches.

I knew we had dropped low but is this the best we can attract. How can any of those three be better than Keith Hill or Paul Tisdale and if we can't tempt managers from Rochdale or Exeter we are really down amongst the dead men. Please Mcabe inspire us with an apointment for once rather than get the cheap option that by September many will want out

Jesus wept, just got in from work to have to start reading about Peter Reid. Why not just keep Adams? Please someone explain the difference between these two. Please.

Hill and Tisdale are the only options on the basis of the names we've heard, surely?

One is a monkey-faced idiot, the other an idiot-faced monkey

a backward step if we employ any of those 3-2 ex swines and an alci.
Whats fuckin happening utd?i know were 3rd tier, but we can surely pick out better options than those 3 tosspots-dig deep mcabe and bring the smiles back to bdtbl.
