I want to nail this myth that Blackwell was somehow responsible for our relegation because it was his players who took as down.

Speed's record as manager (where virtually all his players were signed by KB) was P18 W6 D3 L9. pts 21. Extrapolated over a season that would have given us 54 points and comfortable survival.

Then we got the wonder that was Micky Adams - he signed a few duds, pissed off (apparently) a lot of players and gave us the wonderful managerial record of P23 W4 D5 L14 pts 17 and comfortable relegation.

Personally, I'm just pleased that "the non-league semi-pro clown" handed him a new contract rather than "giving him away to anyone daft enough to take him" as certain observers were imploring him to do.

Did you think that when we signed him? I didn't. Whilst I'm well aware of his mediocre record and wasn't overly excited, I was sure he'd bring some uplift - Many decisions looking backwards look really silly. That one definitey does.

Marcus Bent is utter fucking wank.

Not the most terribly constructive thing i've ever written, but it kind of suits just how non-plussed i am about this signing. With the loan fee and wages he'll probably cost us just shy of 1/2 million this season.
