Today's Guardian newspaper has an article on the Offside Trust - set up to offer support to victims of sexual abuse in football post the Andy Woodward et al revelations. They list the clubs - division by division - who support the trust. We are listed amongst the championship clubs! So let's celebrate!

They used to have a couple of decent writers, especially for off-the-field stuff. The bloke who has been covering the Millwall CPO, Barney someone, is very good. David Conn is good too. But I agree that their football coverage is not as good as it was. They have more coverage of foreign leagues than ours.

You mean Barney Ronay.

There's Danny Taylor too who broke the paedo story the other month.

Andy Bull is the best sports writer out there - got a couple of his books. Think he's more of a freelance guy who gets his stuff printed in the Guardian.

Shame most of their day to day stuff is focused on click bait! No better than The Mail in that front.

Yep, there are far fewer staff writers these days - freelancers cost em less

The Guardian is to trendy bleeding heart liberal being offended on other peoples behalf cunts what the Daily Mail is to thick chav right wing cunts.
Basically they're absolutely one and the same.
Cunts.

The Guardian has its faults but if you regard it as the mirror image of that rag of rags, the Daily Mail, all I can say is that there is something wrong with your mirrors.

Nah. I just despise liberal bleeding heart cunts as much as thick right wing ones.
The Grauniad is arse wipe paper mate. Been gash for years. Used to be a good paper. Not anymore.

Genuinely shocked to see the vitriol launched forth by the Blades Madders towards my favourite paper.

If you hate the Guardian for being too far left, and the Mail for being too far right, does it leave any newspaper readers in the middle for you not to hate? The original post seems to be a light-hearted comment on a trivial piece of sloppy journalism rather than evidence about the political position of the paper. Is it worth the random insulting of quite a few fellow-blades, whatever they read?

Not insulting Blades. Just read the first post. Can't be arsed to argue about it pal.

Any newspaper that has Robert fisk as one of its contributors is OK in my book....

It's like a once much loved elderly relative, sadly now it is old and dribbly, it stares out of the window all day, misses what's under its nose, rambles incoherent nonsense and smells bad. It needs a trip to dignitas

Forgive me if I got the wrong end of the stick. Given how strongly you expressed your views, I assumed that it was something you wanted to discuss. I am still getting used to the Forum.

Sports stuff isn't too bad. The focus on identity politics instead of traditional left wing values however...

When it was the Manchester Guardian you mean? The Socialist/Communist mouthpiece of thick left wing lady parts who bear a grudge against anyone who has a bit of money or lives in a nice house or in a good area and likes nice things - like the word "profit"?
