I thought most of the players were undone by the tactics Selles has imposed on the team, but Brooks continues to be poor, easily dispossessed and just not up to it, irrespective of the tactics.

Wilder or not, was/is a complete rebuild necessary? It’s a massive gamble by the board in our final parachute payment season. We are criminally short of experienced players in positions that every fan knew about before we even kicked a ball and for the umpteenth season we go into it underprepared. Some daft knee jerk reactions but it’s concerning. We need to get busy in the market now and fast. The manner of the defeat will not help in the boards call for patience

Comes down to lack of proper planning before play off final - I think club banked on us going up and no plan B if we didn’t.

As play off final is so far from normal season close, planning time is short, especially if you don’t go up and risk losing best players.

The indecision over Wilder and split board before appointing new manager is another waste of critical planning time and new manager doesn’t really know what he needs until he sees players in action at pre-season.

Coupled with losing some of best players, we really should have had a contingency plan. Maybe we have players waiting to come in but we look extremely light in so many areas. For how many seasons have we relied on on JLT ?

Next few weeks will be very interesting but already feel Selles has a real uphill battle to reinforce the squad and more importantly win over the fans

At least wait until we see what the squad looks like at the end of the window.

Anyone who watched the pre-season games could see we had the potential to be exciting going forward but could be exposed at the back.

My hope and expectation is that with two or three capable defenders, Soumare, maybe TI from Everton, hopefully OA and TD back in the fold come the Autumn, then we'll be a very different proposition.

If we don't properly address the defence and look at protecting it more, then I'll have to concede that either Selles is naive, or the board have hung him out to dry.

I'd prefer to wait until at least September first though.
