I like Peck but he was playing behind 2 other players less than a year ago, and still should be. He does a lot right but he's not exactly solid.

Brooks & Seriki are similar, do some things ok but you could argue those things would be happening in League 1/2 sides. The amount of times Brooks loses the ball while 'dribbling' is mental, you've GOT to be keeping the ball more by just passing the bloody thing.

'Big part' is a stretch.

As I said at the time it was a mistake to start Peck over Davies in the play off final.

These players are fine when there's 10 other stronger players alongside them, not when they are grouped together.

It's a fair point that I should acknowledge- they aren't being played to their strengths.

Peck plays lovely passes but gets overran in midfield. He needs a Souza like player next to him.

Seriki needs a solid defender behind him.

RND is being played out of position but even then he's been a worry for a while. Appreciate he's had injury problems but it's clear he'll never be the same again.

Brooks has lots of dribbling but limited end product and loses the ball far too much, needs more coaching and perhaps a loan spell somewhere.

Put that altogether then there's no surprise we're struggling today.

Doesn't help that absolutely nobody backed our team from when we went 3-1 down. All you could hear on Kop was murmours. I did try, nobody wanted to join in. Ah well.

Wilder or not, was/is a complete rebuild necessary? It’s a massive gamble by the board in our final parachute payment season. We are criminally short of experienced players in positions that every fan knew about before we even kicked a ball and for the umpteenth season we go into it underprepared. Some daft knee jerk reactions but it’s concerning. We need to get busy in the market now and fast. The manner of the defeat will not help in the boards call for patience

Peck has his place in a top half champ team but you are absolutely correct for him in this system he isn't going to get you close to the top doing the role he was asked today, same for Seriki, needs to be in a five ATB as a pure wing back with a covering right centre back

RND - agree, L1 standard at best
PECK - WILL be an asset but needs an experienced partner as he develops
SENKI - surprise bonus last year - I am in hope he will still progress
BROOKS - see above but poor today

BINDON - thought he would be better but as Peck - needs an experienced pro alongside him
CANNON - £10m - exceptionally below average at best, one of the worst ever signings for us

BUT the positives ...
COOPER - average today BUT an exceptional player
BURROWS - Ok today and an exceptional player
HARMER / O HARE / CAMPBELL - proper players
BARRY - will be exceptional for us, sad to see him come off today

ROBINSON - off to Wrexham, solid but if we want to go up or be the Top 6 - needs to go

peck turns in to trouble far too often doesnt seem aware theres danger around him he was asked to do the souza role today and he wasnt up to it im afraid very dissapointed with brooks again today hes been given his chance but doesnt seem up to it

Agree, you can’t play those tactics and have a secure defence. To do it you’d need two excellent centre halves and we can’t afford the quality we’d need.

The football was very boring at times last season, but Wilder would have protected that defence today. He would have understood that without protection we’d lose that game. Selles was naive and allowed the weakest part of the team to be exposed, time and time again. That’s a very worrying sign.

If I was a defender currently talking to the blades, I’d not want to come here and be exposed like that.
