Barry and Bindon: Not good enough.

Sorry Pal, I can't let you off here. Barry was poor, slow, seemingly completely unmotivated and totally ineffectual, I'll give you that.

His performance though was never even close to the mind-bendingly awful abortion that Ben Godfrey put in against Ipswich earlier this season in my opinion.

Barry at least delivered a couple of decent corners and tried not to give the ball away by just simply passing the ball back 5 yards to a defender during his 50-odd minutes. Godfrey however showed an incredible level of consistency during his whole Ipswich display. Somehow he managed to keep up the shittest possible standards mixed with apathy and indifference. It was 'different level' ineptness. We really would have been better off having the other defenders push a wheelie bin around in his shirt on the night, he was SO bad.

I actually think the Barry performance was worse; it was just in his position he wasn't as exposed, so the impact wasn't felt in the result. I watched Barry closely as I sit in the middle of the south stand and was speechless. I used more energy that him going for a HT piss.

At the risk of being devils advocate, i remember similar conversations about McAtee following his first couple of games, and he ended up being our best player during the final quarter of that season....

He wasn't great yesterday, but I'd be inclined to keep him around.

Bindon and Godfrey on the other hand are historically bad loans and need to be returned the minute the clock strikes midnight at Nea Year....

That said, there wasn’t a semblance of a co-ordinated collective press for much of the game, particularly in the first half. Which looked like a bit of a wasted opportunity, given the weight of panicky errors Watford made in their own third.

Based purely on that first 25 mins v Bristol, I'm going out on a limb and saying there's a player in there. Maybe nothing more than an impact sub for us this season, but Wilder is obviously seeing enough from him in training to think he can replace Hamer....

McAtee never had a poor start. He looked a bit off it on his debut against Luton and some nutter posted a thread stating Man City had our pants down. One of the only true examples of fans pissing the bed on here. Based on multiple viewings, Barry is just simply shite. Edit: and Bindon looks especially shite in my opinion.

He looked good against weaker opposition in the preseason games I managed to watch. Since coming into the Championship he’s been poor so maybe it’s just about levels. He doesn’t look like the kind of player who will run his bollocks off and do the defensive side of the game so he’s probably not going to fit into a Wilder team (see also Brooks). We don’t play wingers anymore so he’s not really playing in his preferred position.

I’m not saying he’s a bad player but sadly I don’t think it’s going to work out for him here.

McAttee was dreadful away at Luton but that gave him the understanding of the levels of aggression and physicality required in the champ as opposed to U21 cat 1 football.
That changed the very next time he played.
Lightweight hasn’t progressed since the 20 min spell vs Bristol City. He’s just got worse and worse.
He couldn’t aggressively mash a tea bag.

I honestly can't imagine a time when I could be so obsessed with my teams rivals to the point where I'd be analysing signings, Club hierarchy etc. and posting such in depth analysis on their forum.
