Thank You, Selles

Nope.
It’s a professional game.
Have you witnessed the dogs abuse that RND got?
That lad has my sympathy becaue he TRULY tried. His injury at Cov was horrendous and he was playing superbly at that time.
I’ve all the time for genuine people with genuine effort but none whatsoever for absolute dross like Selles
6 games. 6 defeats. 12 conceded in five league games.
One shot on target in 7 hours of football. Why should I respect or revere that?
You shouldn't respect that neither should you respect the man that threw the players under the bus after a poor result, or blamed referees even moaning they were eating a sarny when he went to see them,or the man who phucked up at Wembley but refused to own it and ran down the tunnel at full time leaving the players to it. At least Sellés owned his failings.

If that’s your reading of it I can see why you respond the way you do.

I think that 3-0 win at the Lane in January was the cause of all this. The owners got it into their heads that Selles was some sort of undiscovered tactical genius, whereas in reality (as demonstrated by his career) he's a mediocre coach who had a good say at that game in Jan.
I know Matt Crooks' family well as I am friends with them. I spoke to his sister (who occasionally goes to the Lane depending on if or where his brother is playing for Hull on that day) at the Millwall game. She was mystified that we brought in Selles to replace Wilder. After the match I told her that I blame Matt for scoring the first goal against us last January because Hull went on to win the match also it made some of the American owners think that Selles would be a great appointment for us . She laughed and said she couldnt see Selles staying with us for too long!

I wished him luck when he came and I wish him luck now that he has left , ( apart from if he manages a club against us )

There is a guy at my work who looks alarmingly similar to Ruben Selles and such is my anger with Selles for making such a colossal balls-up of our last parachute payments season, that I'm going to have to actively try not to slam the security doors in his face, or shoulder-barge him over the counter in the canteen.

I appreciate that its not entirely down to Selles and the owners have to take a large chunk of the blame, but there is nobody at work that looks sufficiently like Rosen or Helmy that I might lose control and try to flush their head down the bogs.

He looks like Vigo from ghostbusters.

I’m disappointed Selles didn’t work out but they had to do something. What is concerning is how kids at Reading & bottom of the league, down and out Hull managed to adapt to his instructions but our bunch of idiots couldn’t manage.

Repeated myself a few times but this team has a mentality issue. They shouldn’t need Wilder’s arm around their shoulder before they can start playing properly.

Sure Dave Bassett said in his biography the club have no vision and after all these years that still remains, no long term football structure and to quote pinchy we are only happy with the muck n nettles approach.

To neutrals last season Wilder was krypton
Ite to neutrals this season we are a laughing stock. Every football fan will want us to lose every game and the wilder is a wanker chants will be back

I have no qualms with Selles the idea was right sadly the board picked the wrong man.
The club's got no vision, how can that be, there's rumours that the great font of footballing knowledge, visionary and occasional visitor to BDTBL Abdullah may return? New structure possibly to include Yusuf Giansiracusa as Director of Football and fan liason officer.

Kevin McCabe had his faults as chairman but at least he was from Sheffield and was a lifelong fan of the club. He was not afraid to talk to the fans or the press and was ready to explain the board's decisions e.g. on changes of manager, of which there were many between Warnock and Wilder. It is unlikely that he would have sacked Wilder and appointed Selles but if he had I don't think we would be complaining about lack of communication.

Well, you say that, but he sacked Wilson, couldn’t explain it, appointed Morgan temporarily, and then gave the job to David Weir!

He has us in L1 for all those years. But that’s fine because he communicated.

Only Keir Starmer lies more than McCabe did.

In a strange way I like Kevin McCabe mainly because I think he meant well and was a Blades fan from birth. But...he was a two faced twat and I didnt trust him as far as I could throw him. If he said it was tea time id be getting myself a bowl of shreddies. Basically he meant well but when financial times got tougher he slipped easily into being a lying bastard.

I do feel quite sorry for him. Noone sets out to do a bad job, and as already said the board behaved like total amateurs in the transfer window until it was already too late.

Some of our players also need to have a serious long hard look at themselves. They weren't being asked to play a different game, and nothing excuses the lack of character that some displayed. Some hard yards will need to be put in now, to get rid of the bitter taste that this has left.
Well said, exactly what I was thinking. I’m not comfortable with the free pass the players are getting from some.

Selles failed, there’s no other way to put it. But it’s not just on him.

One thing I will say about Wilder, he won’t stand for any bollocks.

The rebuild starts today

I’d just about found some mental balance, the optimism was coming back.

Then I read that El Accounto was back spouting his shite.

Its like Margot Robbie ageeeing to a date then she tells you she has an STD…

Those who thought he was a good choice were those that are naive. Selles had already shown he wasn't good enough at this level with his previous clubs. He just took another easy payday.
I was one of those that thought it could work. More from a potential point of view, to embrace the COH way of doing things.

Hands up, I was wrong, catastrophically so.

But I’m starting to think that whilst Selles was a big part of the problem, the real problem is COH.

Their AI driven policy was soon binned off as we shat the bed at the end of the transfer window and raided the local care home for signings. Don’t get me wrong, we have signed some good experienced players who will do us a job.

But this isn’t what it said on the tin. It isn’t signing good value players who would likely develop into a profit further down the road. It was panic, it was me running round trying to get a present on Christmas Eve. It was “oh fuck it this will do” and that’s never the best strategy. To continue the analogy, we end up buying the same thing we bought before because it’s the only answer.

So we are where we are, a position where seemingly only one man can dig us out of the shit.
