As Billy Sharp said when he was asked about him at the NTT20 forum in July, a coach, not a manager.

Had no idea how to actually set up our players to win a game of football.

He’s not primarily to blame - that’s these idiots who own the club, private equity blowhards who think they know better than everyone else when they actually don’t have clue - but he’s done a lot of damage. What an awful appointment.

I don’t really care if it’s Wilder again. The important thing is it’s not Selles.

You might know this. Has there ever previously, in the history of English football, been a non caretaker manager with a 100% loss record?
 
I don't understand the negativity towards Sellés by some. I guess it's easy to kick a man when he's down (and out). I wasn't impressed at his appointment tbh, but give him his dues he did his best, it clearly didn't work out and he didn't hide when the heat was on.

I'd do my best too, but if the Board were insane enough to offer me the job, I'd hope I'd recognise my limitations.

Terry Connor was the given the manager job at Wolves after they got rid of McCarthy; he also has a 0% win record.

He did, however, outdo Selles in that 4 of his 13 games were draws.

De Boer at Crystal Palace lost all 4 league games without scoring. He won a league cup game, however.
 
There was nothing modern, innovative or betraying any sort of knowledge about him. He tried to impose a backwards, unworkable style and the players were having none of him after working with top coaches and manager just before. He was very lucky with his inheritance from last season and pissed it up the wall like a nepo baby. Quite frankly he should be thanking us for a huge payout for a few weeks "work".
 
Wrong manager for Wrong team. It would be interesting to hear what he said at the interview for the job.. He was a hard listen on the radio

If we appoint someone who knows his arse from his elbow again as manager, you will soon see a SUFC side that is dangerous at this level and will be looking a very decent side again. The core players are there (mostly) from last season. Its just the idiot in charge who didn't have a clue how to play them.
 
Thanks for fronting up and not shirking away from criticism, unlike a certain Mr Sheffield United who’ll no doubt be doing this constantly from next saturday onwards. This football club is a shambles and a complete mess. He shouldn’t have been here in the first place in hindsight. But we’re continuing to go backwards upon realising this.

Awful manager / coach. Good riddance. He was a charlatan. I have no feelings for him positive or negative, just glad hes gone before he did any more damage to our club.

That last paragraph could have been written about the management at my current place of employment.....you'll understand if I don't tell you the name of the company.

I hope so.

My own club went through so much shite you couldn't imagine it. I'm different from most on here as a part of me feels sorry for Wednesday although most of it hopes they go down because of their racism.

The next step for them is massive. Do they give the job to someone who knows what they're doing 'even Wilder' or do they just play pin the tail on the donkey again? 🤔
 
I wish Selles well in future endeavours but nowt to thank him for as I have already said on another thread Barry Cannon & brooks forward line sealed his fate & yes the players need a good kick up the arse

You can’t get away with this in your first weeks in charge of your new club. You just can’t.

Dead man walking ever since. Stupidity on a level I can’t even describe.

Selles most probably earned more money in 3 months of absolute failure than most people earn for 10 years graft and you feel sorry for him? He's most probably earned a small fortune at not being very good at his job from his previous jobs as well.

No one takes a job knowing it wont work out for them .He may have been a little naive with the scale of the task but i dont wish him anything but the best. What he received was down to the board and agent
 
I have no interest in the last Manager at all, he's History.
What doe's bother me,
is WHO WILL BE PICKING THE NEXT ONE !!!! :rolleyes:

Those who thought he was a good choice were those that are naive. Selles had already shown he wasn't good enough at this level with his previous clubs. He just took another easy payday.
