Tevez Billboard - Wednesday fan by any chance?

Indeed - I was going to suggest we crowd-source funding for a rival poster outside Hillsborough, but it's been so long since Wednesday were in the Premier League all records of who scored the fatal goal condemning them have been lost...

How about this? First player to score 5 in a Premier League game...

EDIT: didn't realise that was Newcastle's first win that season. Lol.

Nope, cracking footballer in his prime!

Also the little bit in the Stir about blades still being bitter about the affair... Does anyone still actually give a shit? I certainly don't. It was nearly a decade ago ffs.

This riled me more than the poster itself, which is quite amusing really. The press love to peddle the 'Blades fans are so bitter' line in complete opposition to the evidence, which is that West Ham fans keep gloating about cheating and complain about being mildly punished for it, much more than we hold on to any animosity about said cheating. I imagine the online reaction to this was characterised much more by a multitude of gloating cockneys than a load of United fans getting annoyed. West Ham fans are far more bitter about us suing them than we are about the offence in the first place. Nor do our subsequent failures seem to allow them to let it go. I suppose they are egged on by pigs etc and their own London-centric sense of entitlement whilst we have enough sense to know our long term decline has been the result of a number of factors, of which Tevez is just one. Shame to see the Sheffield media as well buying into the West Ham perspective but not a surprise really.

Fair play to Sky Sports on the tevez billboard, I found it funny as sky didn't mean any malice i think its a good prank & if anything its flattering if only we could get a micheal Doyle picture outside Upton Park

But without digging old past Im amazed today thr amount of people still with a grudge 9 years later, I left it years ago & knocking hammers out of the cup was my final piece in closure jigsaw. I even began to appreciate tevez ability at man city later on it shouldve been a pts deduction like many clubs since but hey we cant change history & if anything were hoping memory serves me right if we had lost to 1-0 not 3-0 to Aston villa on penultimate day then we wouldve stayed up on GD even with a loss to Wigan on final day

if our last minute equaliser that was ruled out at west ham, a mistake the ref admitted as the defender took out the keeper wed have stayed up as wed have been level on points with west ham with a better gd

This won't be there by sunday morning. Will either have been ripped off or covered in paint.

Yeah... Derek Geary - smallest ever premiership player supposedly "took out" Robert Green (one of the larger member of the goalkeepers union).

Whilst we're on the subject, didn't your dad score a perfectly good goal against wet spam that would have been enough for us to stay up had it not been chalked off?

He did just that, yes. He often chunters about it now, drives my Mum round the bend no end. Just last night we were sat having bangers and mash and watching a re-run of the Crystal Maze, and he was ruminating "grrr...grrr...perfectly good goal...tssskk...should've counted...grumble...tossing Tevez..."

If I remember rightly, that same weekend Tevez was also involved in a goal that shouldn't have stood. A WHU player shot, it didn't cross the line but was accidently blocked on the line by Tevez. So it shouldn't have stood, and by touching it, Tevez was offside when interfering with play. We may have been shite during the crucial run in that year, but other factors did go into the equation too, it wasn't just down to us. My Dad's goal and the Tevez 'goal' would've added to our goal difference, small margins, I know...

I've been trying to think of that 'goal' WHU scored. I'm sure it was at Blackburn and the other player involved was the guy who was at Leeds. Can't remember his name. Went to court over racist comments. I've tried unsuccessfully on YouTube for that 'goal'.

So many things went against us that season.

I stand to be corrected then, mate... Happy searching! ;-)

So many things, football is a cruel beast. Take the two penalty misses against Blackburn, although I'll concede that those are due to us being a bit sh*t...

Like most people I am angry at Scudamore and the Premier League's handling of the affair. However, as another poster alluded to the arrogance of West Ham fans has pissed me off no end in the aftermath of the affair. They cheated, they got off incredibly lightly yet they act like we are the bad guys in this whole situation. The media also took their side on that too.
West Ham United annoy me more because of their free stadium and all that comes with that at the taxpayers expense. That's far more of a scandal.

Cracking footballer indeed. None of this was ever the players fault or doing.

But West Ham United FC got away with it, big time, and seemingly in an underhand, inconsistent and probably corrupt manner. That will always stick with me I am afraid.

I've just rang up Sky Cancellation department absolutely 'mad with rage' livid about the this Billboard and told them to cancel my sky package, and given this billboard as my reason, and they have just slashed my Sky Bill by £30 a month for the next 10 months. Viva Carlos Tevez.

Rumours that Sky Sports wanted to put up a Premier League "moment" outside Hillsborough to annoy the SWFC fans have been quashed by a spokesman from the sports channel. The spokesman said, "The last time Sheffield Wednesday were in the Premier League, cameras had yet to be invented." ‪#‎masssssssssive‬

Take the last day of the 93-94 season. Seem to recall there were some alleged irregularities behind some of the defining results of that day, eg Wimbledon's collapse against Everton that kept them up instead of us?

I'd try my luck doing that but if I get my Sky bill reduced anymore then they would owe me money every month. :)

3-3 draw with arsenal with terry henry scoring the fatal 3rd and equalising goal for the arse thus relegating the pigs :D

Totally agree the arrangements re the Olympic stadium are an utter disgrace.
Leyton Orient who are nearer to it are ignored.
It all depends on who you are and who you know.
Have totally lost interest, along with many others in Premiership football, rarely watch it and always one of 5 teams that wins the title.
It is a money orientated league and more shall have more.
